LARS is banned..?

I hardly know any of you folks here personally 'cept for Sneaks, we've had some small talk at various shows, that's about it. By not knowing the heavy posters here I can only get a feel for someone by the reading their posts, some are funny, boring, down right mean, informative, and occasionally sincere.

I very seldom make any comments when a thread of this nature takes precedence on just about anything else that is posted for that day. Because I don't know the folks involved, I will not add to the bashing or taking sides because I wouldn't know what the f*ck I was talking about.

I can assume there is some bad blood between the banner and the banned.

And after reading through the whole thread, I have no idea what this is about and why the person was banned. Since we are basically somewhat anonymous to each other, why not post the reason for all this "who struck John" shit. No? Off base here?

Not much really, IMO. Just look at his post history. There's no melt-down there. Perhaps there was a PM meltdown? If so, it did not involve me. A PM meltdown with Joecoool was what led to his first banning. JC shared that PM with me way back when, and it was pretty out there.

Seeing how few people get banned here, I am confident that it took something far more than what appeared in his posts here to make this group of moderators ban him. Perhaps it's just a short time-out and not a perma-ban?

Hell, one time over in CF, he dared them to ban him, then demanded it.

You can see his Avatar on threads he started in PR&C. It says "banned" under his name. I have no idea if permanent or temporary.

My wife has a cousin in Sonoma whose daughter is is on a volleyball scholarship an hour from us in Rochester.

All I can figure, is that the argument must have escalated after that thread was closed, via PM, because there's nothing that I've seen that suggests he's banned. He has a way of getting up close and personal when "discussing" stuff. Probably did that to the wrong mod..........

While I don't know what happened, I know from some friendly PMs with him that he takes this stuff seriously. I was laughing off some of the insults in a thread, he seemed to want to ramp it up.

I won't go into more detail, but I think he just needed some cool down time.

I've taken some time off from here a few years ago, but now when some of our resident asses act up, I just say fukc them, this place is too much fun to let them ruin it for me.

If you want to see batshit crazy, go over to PR&C and OT at the other place and look at NBM's posts. They haven't banned him. They haven't banned CHAS.

In the interest of member privacy, I am not obligated to share any specific reasons or details, and I won't suggest "what he did" is limited to one specific event, or is visible in any posts accessible to you. To do so would be a disservice to Larry, and I do have a responsibility of confidentiality, even after a member is denied service.

The simple, "drama-free" answer is he failed to abide by the agreed conditions of his 2014 return, and when he broke that deal, I broke my end of it in response. Actually, I knew he broke that deal more than six months ago, but I am a very patient person, and I extended him every opportunity imaginable to correct.This was by no means an instant decision.

For those who don't recall...Larry was already permabanned in 2012, which was actually his second banning here. I made the mistake of allowing him back last year, and not only did he blatantly lie to me (and several others) in his promises to us, he again went out of his way to become a nuisance here, and did so in such ways he apparently believed I wouldn't be able to see or detect. And that is where he failed. In other words, he knew damn well what he was doing wouldn't be tolerated, and took deliberate measures so as to not get caught.

That should tell you something about his character, but I understand you will decide based on what you see and know. If your alliance to Larry is so strong you must leave in protest, then I encourage you to do so. I would much rather have no activity here than spend all my time defending false assumptions, heresy, and rumors from people who can only guess about a situation that in no way involves them.

My goal is to try to keep this place fun, friendly, and fair to everyone, and unfortunately that sometimes means a particularly toxic member must be excused. I don't want to have to do that, ever, but no individual member here is more important than the forum as a whole, which is my responsibility to preserve.
For nearly six years we have proven to be incredibly easy and light on rules and enforcement. In fact most complaints of this forum is that we don't take enough action. But we do have our limits, and Larry is one of the very few who over the past 4 years has consistently been determined to exploit them.

Finally, if I or any of our moderators have treated YOU poorly or unfairly and/or you find this to be an oppressive environment, I sincerely apologize, and invite you to PM me your specific objections or concerns. But from what I see here, your dissatisfaction is based solely on 3rd party perception that includes no actual facts.
You can point your finger at Jeff or Thomas, libtards, whiners or me or anyone else you wish, but I'm sorry, you're looking in the wrong direction. Ultimately, you should expect a 50-something year old man to be accountable for his own actions and behavior, but a lot of you don't seem to be doing that.
