How many here are actually happy?

Serious question, this place tends to live up to it's name of anger island. The number of threads and posts here about violence, killing or exterminating those Americans that disagree with your opinion with calls for assassination and murder are extreme. I do not and have not ever seen it on any other site I visit. How many members including myself have mentioned they needed to step away because they didn't like how they act here and needed a reset? Think about that, members needing to step away because they feel posting here makes them act in ways they don't like. I know some of what gets posted here is tongue and cheek but there is real anger out there. Try not to make this political, I don't care about your frustration with current/past or future politics, are you happy in your life?

Me, yes I am happy. I am retired (early), great wife/kids/grandkids, many close friends. In short I have great people in my life. We retired to our dream home and have enough money to finance our retirement and still set our kids up for life when our time comes. If we want something we get it, we go without nothing. Today we'll hit the grocery store, I'll cut the lawn and do some yardwork while my wife finishes a painting project and we'll finish by grilling in the back yard. A very good day which leaves me happy.

I am extremely happy. In good health, golf swing is coming along nicely, just rebuilt the filter grids for the pool and the water has never looked more clear, got a couple of hardwood boxes coming along nicely, I intend to enjoy a book out by the pool later and maybe take a long walk down to the river (one of my property lines), this evening we are grilling some steaks. What really put a huge smile on my face, however, was checking on the news feeds coming out of Europe and seeing all the crying liberals watching their dreams of Globalist tyranny evaporating. Yesterday's elections in the EU were not good for the turd fondlers. And that makes me very happy indeed.

Short answer... very happy.

I have everything I need and many things that I want. I'm financially secure with a good job. I have a good education, skills, and a resume that makes it pretty certain that even if it went South, I will never have a hard time finding good employment or making money.

More important than any amount of money... I spent the weekend watching my 4 year old play and my wife coach softball (softball is used very loosely at this age), coaching my son's baseball team, watching some great kart racing, and sitting down to watch a movie that I've seen a hundred times because it's what the kids picked (with a glass of good bourbon).

Not much else I could ask for.

It's hard to imagine people can say such horrible things and be happy under it all. I remember a time when you stepped away as well.

You ever see a happy leftist? Seriously. They wake up in the morning and get their talking points from the MSM about what they are to be outraged about that day. I've never seen one that looked happy. You see those morbidly obese, purple-haired, hog ring in the nose freaks and they are never smiling. Frankly, they will probably never find happiness in their lives because the radical leftist teachers brainwashed them to be good little commies and to destroy everything beautiful in this country. Look at the sniveling brats throwing soup on the paintings in museums. Those look like conservatives to you? Of course not. Just adult children angry because they have been trained to be angry. They will be miserable for the rest of their days.

As I age I realize very few things you can buy will guarantee happiness.
Cars for instance, I am always modding them, lots of money spent and lots of frustration gained.
This forum has a few angry fooks, ignore them the best you can, MOST in here are good doods, always willing to help when they can, they outnumber the punks in here 100+:1.

I am blessed with a wonderful wife of 33+ years, dated her for five years before marriage, three awesome daughters that are all doing great in their careers, and a gang of dogs that knock me over when I come from work.

Life is good, this forum should add to your joy, not steal your joy.
