WOW...Thread on CF about LG headers...questions.
Below is a thread on CF forum about LG headers that took a turn for the worse.
I have a few questions: 1) Who do you side with? 2) I think it's pretty sh*tty for CF to delete post while allowing other posts that has nothing to do with the buyer or the seller to remain. You can tell that plenty have been deleted because they have been quoted. Some of the posts deleted had reasonable questions. What do you think? I was thinking the same thing.
Why would LG accept gashed up headers hanging out of the box? They wouldn't. What does the guys age have anything to do with it? I bought my C5 when I was 25yrs old. I've been told to "take my daddy's car home" before by a guy driving a C6 The age thing always pisses me off. Personal attacks like that should not have come from Lou. Where are the pics LG took? Yeah, seems shady to me always dodging the main issue. But I have kooks so Im not worried lol. Yeah I wish there was another forum with that type of info that didnt have azholes as mods.
I mean Im 28 and I own a C5. Its not a big deal lol

That was a fun one last night, kept me up till midnight. I had about 6 or 7 posts in that thread that have been deleted. I knew that would happen, so I have most of the original thread saved as complete web pages. What you see left has been radically neutered, probably 50+ posts removed from what it was last night. I haven't seen such classless replies from a vendor since TByrne was on the forum. I lost a LOT of respect for LG last night. |

There is always two sides of the story. I am assuming plenty of inaccurate rants and I am assuming many posts attacking both sides for whatever reason, this could be the reason for some of the deleted posts. CF is going to protect anyone paying for sponsorship, simple business practice. This is one of the things I don't like about CF, it is a business and not just a great source for Vette's.
For the OP, his age should not be a factor, for that matter I don't know him and have no reason to take his word over LGM. LGM has built and sold some really great stuff. I have never dealt with LGM and this thread does not turn me off from them, nobody is perfect and public attack would pizz off anyone. Could LGM dealt with this better, sure, but why should they bite the bullet if the OP shipped the item back as LGM says. Dealing with UPS, I have received many packages from UPS without any problems, a few items have arrived damaged and the companies I purchased from ate the cost of dealing with UPS. I no longer ship UPS because they do trash items and have screwed me several times on shipping, so I don't like to use UPS. I am not going to take sides, I don't know the OP and if LGM is having problems more posts will be started.

People were only skeptical as to the "who to believe" credibility thing, UNTIL Lou started replying, avoiding the topic, and even going on to hype his product as a sales pitch.
At that point the replies became almost 100% in favor of the OP. Lou dug himself a deep hole there, by his very own replies. As his replies continued, the public backlash only got worse and worse. Lou's last reply of the thread stated "The OP was informed the headers were received damaged, and he did nothing". That's The kid was told he'd get a full refund after they received the headers. Then WEEKS later, when he was shorted his refund, they claimed damage, and said they took pictures of the damage, and said they would immediately email the OP those pics. I know if I were in that situation I'd certainly want to see the pics before just sitting back and accepting a $650 loss. This was many weeks ago, and even after MANY people asking for those pics of the damaged parts last night, they are STILL nowhere to be found. WTF is so difficult about posting a pic of the supposed damage? One of the better replies in that entire thread simply stated "you can't just claim shipping damage then keep someone's money". And that is EXACTLY what LG has done thus far. LG, if you have pics to prove what you're claiming, then holy sh!t, just show them and be done with it. Lou f'ked himself royally last night, and I don't feel sorry for him in the least. If you're gonna claim something like that WEEKS after receiving the product, either prove it, or expect people to not believe you (and especially when you can't keep your story consistent from one reply to the next). My $.02...this is starting to annoy me all over again. |

The posts from LG made myself not want to deal with them at all because no matter how many PERFECT parts gets shipped it's the one time they have a problem and Handle it in a totally dick move way. If LG would have handled it differently I would not hold it against them. Sometimes things happens and shipping damages it. Take your loss as a company and keep your customers happy.

I agree the thread doesn't look good, but I have seen so many threads about LGM that was above what I would expect from other companies. Even though I haven't dealt with LGM myself, I would not count them out due to this one incident. All of us have posted or said things we wish we could retract. If you have a bad experience with someone, share with others, if it is a trend let the cards fall as they may. There are plenty of CF vendors I won't do business with due to repeated problems or simply having a Corvette tax to pay for the good graces of other forums.

After reading that thread last night and today I think I've made my mind up on coilovers - PFADT here I come
I know LG has some good products but, no excuse for treating customers in such a manner. I really didn't have an opinion one way or the other until Lou started posting

I just don't understand why LG wouldn't just make good on it and send him a new set or just simply refund his money and call it a day. I mean I understand that they (LG) are in the business to make money, but this little incident would lead me to believe that it cost them more money than anything else. I just don't get these vendors/businesses sometimes.... Oh well.....

My thoughts on the subject:
It's a case of you don't know who to believe. Each side represents their side of the story, and like all other cases, you only get the info they give you. I tend to stay out of bickering like that. It's between the buyer and seller. If you really think you're being screwed, then take it up with the BBB. That said, it would seem to me that it would have been better for LG to appease the guy, and keep their rep fully intact, than to have a few thousand people see it and question their sales/work. Probably cost them a couple grand in sales I would think.

I'm confused as to what happened to the content of the thread. I login to C5 Gen and see the thread back at the top. I clicked on it figuring it was re-opened or the buyer started a new thread. It's now only four pages long and most all of the questions directed at LG have been removed and most all of the praise for LG remains. Why is that?
The only reason why I'm posting this is because it bothers me. What if I was new to corvetteforum and wanted to buy some headers. I'd want to see the good and bad of all vendors, not CF manipulating things to favor the vendor. Plus, on top of that, it looks as if Lou's response has been changed some. He now long longer calls him a 20yr old kid, ect. His response now looks more "professional". I don't get it. Its shows he (Lou) last edited his post on 3/1, I read it on 3/2 (yesterday) and all the bashing he (Lou) was doing was there. Now it's gone today? Last edited by tomurphjr; 03-03-2010 at 8:26am. |
