Yep I see it here in Texas. Damn fools moving out here buying a few acres and bragging they love living in the country. They are just dragging the damn city out here.

The cities in Texas are full on liberal cesspools, and libs are starting to take control of the suburbs. People will have to flee further and further out. My county stood strong this go round, but it's just a matter of time for us.

It's just a matter of time before they take control of our state government and institute an income tax here. I have an exit plan, assuming I don't get become ill or infirm.

The problem is, they've let their state run amok and be overrun by the libs, and now they will screw up wherever they are going. Not a good thing. I maintain that Ga is no more than 2 elections away from becoming a blue state. This is in large part because of libs moving to Atlanta, and swaying the vote.

From the perspective of a.person who resides in NY, we can't wait to get out of here.
I know many who'd like to, but their jobs are too good to bail on.
Personally? Liz and I are seriously getting ready to say hasta lavista to NYS,
like in the spring.
We're hunting in Delaware. It looks.Like we are going to rent until we find the ideal place.to live there. Low taxes, rarely goes below freezing, and relatively close to our daughters and friends.
The $6500 per year in property tax costs is reason enough.
That's $540/per.month!!!
Taxes on the same house in Delaware are $500 per YEAR!!!
My wife is a flaming lib, but I'm not. I look at it as entertainment. Forget about flipping them. It's futile. They have all the answers. Pressing her buttons is downright fun.

Don't worry. Americans relocating are actually SAVING red states like Texas.

Go look at the exit polls. People born in Texas voted for Beto. Ted Cruz won the born elsewhere vote. Illegal alien anchor babies are voting blue, transplants fleeing California and New York taxes are voting red.

You WANT tax refugees to move to your state, they'll help keep those taxes low and counteract open borders.

Reasons I'm bullish on South Carolina for the long-term:
  • NOT next to the border.
  • NO large Urban area like Atlanta attracting liberal college grads to work.
  • Largest up-and-coming growth area, Greenville, is like the capital city of the bible-belt. Overrun with evangleicals, the hipster crowd there has no power.
  • DOES have a state income tax HOWEVER overall a relatively free state and with EXTREMELY LOW cost of living. I've lived in Florida, and SC is cheaper despite the income tax. So South Carolina IS an attractive place for high-tax refugees.

Heather and I are STRONGLY considering South Carolina when we leave California. Her parents are in Virginia, Brother in NC, so it would be better as we would be close to them. I have 2 close friends in NC as well. Greenville is definitely on the radar.

Greenville is our Austin, TX or Boulder, CO except there are enough evangelicals that the hipsters have no political power, just enough of a presence to turn the downtown area into trendy city with the type of restaurants, bars, etc. you'd expect purple-haired clown people to frequent. Obviously stuff there that would also cater to normal people. It's a nice and very busy little area.

Charleston is our New Orleans. Plenty of old money with expensive historic homes. Politicially a lost cause due to all the dregs of society.

Hilton Head is our Orange County.

Columbia is . . . . well Columbia. Pretty boring Capital City other than the college-town areas of University of South Carolina, surrounded by a sea of bright red suburbs, you can work in Columbia and easily live close-by in a town/county not run by Democrat morons. Honestly I don't care to visit it. We've vacationed in Hilton Head and Charleston.

I live in Barnwell, which is in the middle of nowhere. We're 2+ hours West from Hilton Head or Charleston. We're 1.5 hours south of Columbia. Closest civilization is Aiken, SC which is 45 minutes west of us, and another 15 minutes gets you to Augusta, GA.

My parents live in Union, which is about 45 minutes north of Columbia and 45 minutes south of Spartanburg and 45 minutes East of Greenville, roughly.

Oh yeah, there's also the Fort Mill & Rock Hill area, which are basically suburbs of Charlotte, NC home to all the workers bright enough to live south of the city and pay lower taxes/enjoy lower cost of living than the sad saps living east, west, and north of Charlotte.

We have no emissions inspections or anything like that. You pay your taxes annually on your vehicles and then get a new sticker for your plate in the mail. You can buy any kind of gun/magazines that you can in any gun friendly state. Income taxes exist but aren't absurd. Gas is OK, not quite as cheap as Georgia. The state is full of quiet areas that you can live in but also be less than an hour from civilization. If you want to be a city slicker, you've got your pick on the coast, on the NC border, on the GA border, or the middle of the state.

One of the many reasons we left Illinois. Our property taxes were over $11K on our $325K house. And now there is talk of implementing a state wide property tax on top of that. I think Illinois may very well be the first state to file for bankruptcy.

If California doesn't beat them to it.

The problem is the libs run away from the problems they voted in and then vote for the same idiots with the same idiotic policies and screw up good the good states. We're starting to look to get out of this shit-hole state. Not sure if it will be FL or AZ but no way in hell I'll stay here long term. Just gotta see where the kids end up in several years.
