I would have bought one more similar to this if I could have configured it when I got mine. Mine was as robust as you could buy at the time. Happy to see they keep pushing the limits. I have zero fucks given about buying a 10-12k computer.

I'm sure it is a solid machine, but that's a bit out of the price range I'd be willing to spend right now.

Honestly if you are just using a computer to do internet/email and the occasional document/spreadsheet/photochop I recommend getting a Linux machine. You can get a nice laptop from an outfit like System76 for under a grand, it comes pre-loaded with a flavor of Ubuntu Linux, and is fast as hell if you get an SSD boot/storage drive. They make higher-end machines too. For shits and giggles earlier this year I went on their website and configured their high-end tower system with maximum everything and it priced out at over $64,000 IIRC.

So many advantages, like not having to worry about Microsoft anything, no viruses, and so many free software packages.

40% of that pricetag is just (massively overpriced) storage space, which for a mobile device, is beyond stupid. For virtually everyone, the laptop will be dead and gone before you fill even one of those drives.

If you truly need 8TB of onboard SSD, 2TB M.2 cards are readily available in the $250 ballpark....Paying Dell $5k for a quartet of them is insane.
