Amen to missing the country you grew up in. The one we’re living in now has become pretty ****ed up this year and it’s headed the wrong way. My first car was a 62 Olds Starfire 2 door hardtop. Would buy it in a minute if I found one now in good shape.

My grandson gave me a great compliment last night. Part of what made it great was he didn't know he was complimenting me.

Last night as we watched "Last Man Standing" with Tim Allen my grandson says " He's just like you "

I didn't even know I would have considered that a compliment until he said it and I felt a sense of pride well up in me.

It's nice to recieve such an innocent compliment that you would never have expected.

Last day of the heat wave they think, and man it's about time. We've had a couple of weeks without rain and hot temps. .......I don't know how folks in Ariz, and Texas, etc. do it. It's going to be the hottest day today, pushing 40C......

Morning Rikki. The rest of us do things in the early morning so we don't have to sweat doing them when it gets hot. Supposed to be in the upper 90s with a heat index in the mid 100s today.
