I typically can pick up on a sign or two. The truck remote starter wont operate when battery starts wheezing. Slow cranking or info notice on wifes car.

All the toys (3) are on Deltran chargers which greatly extend life of batteries and are all full when I start out

Original tires on new cars for some reason don’t last >30k miles... seen on my new trucks and even wife’s car where at 20k miles I need to change...

I can get ~40 to 50k out of same tire, brand and type replaced via discount tire for some reason

Change the battery? Shit man, when my car needs its first oil change, I trade it in on a new one. Once you start performing maintenance on a car, the good miles have been taken out of it.

Yep. I get rid of the OEMPOS Michelins on my Jeeps and replace them with General Grabbers. I've got about 45K on those with almost half the tread left.

My GT350 tires weren’t corded on the front at 18k miles. Part of that could be the aggressive camber from the factory. I need to have that scales down a bit.

That happened to me three years ago. My last flight landed Saturday morning at 12:30 a.m. Went out to the car and the battery was dead. But I have had much worse happen to me multiple times flying. I have learn to roll with it.

Several years ago, flew back into Logan (Boston). Got to my C5 and the battery was dead. Called the airport parking folks and they sent out a tow truck. Guy tried to boost my car, but it was dead. Since was early in the morning (after midnight) and no one else around, and since I was parked on the 5th floor, I said to the tow guy to give me a push to the (circular) ramp to go down. He did, and at the bottom, I popped the clutch and the car fired right up.

I personally have witnessed the increases in average speeds due to lack of traffic. Of course, just because the traffic is light doesn't mean the driver is able to handle these higher speeds - leading to the ironic result that traffic fatalities are actually going UP as traffic density goes down.
