I took a ride out to Chippewa Falls H-D this afternoon. (about 300 miles round trip) I probably should have cut the grass and done a bunch of chores around here but piss on it.

Anyway, they had this immaculate 2014 Dyna on the showroom floor with the 103 ci Twinkie and 4,700 miles on the clock for $13,147.

The big oogle was this 131 ci Stage 4 CVO Street Glide which belonged to a customer. These things start at $40k and come from the factory with the Milwaukee 8 "M-8" 117 ci engine. For an additional $6k you can get the 131.

$50k. For a motorcycle. I guess that High Country I was looking at a few weeks ago wasn't too bad.

Took the Road Glide to Helen Ga today. Great scenery, roads with plenty of curves..had a great time. Made a day out of it.

I have the fever for one after 25 yrs. since my last. A Wide Glide or STC would be my choice. Friend had a big CVO, it would fly. I've even thought about a cheap 1200 Sporty and turning it into an old school chopper...even with the hard tail. They are getting really cheap now. Cousin had a Dyna one time. Aren't they built on a sporty chassis or something? He said it was too small for him.

I've been REAL curious about pricing up north vs here in the south with winter coming up. Just wondered if a REAL bargain could be found in a northern state.

Completely different frames.

Not nearly as much as you think. They might negotiate on a used bike but I wouldn't expect much of anything for a discount. Forget new. They won't budge.

nothing is negotiable new these days it seems. Went looking at Tri-toon party barges yesterday with dad.... at the Harley dealership local to me.

23' Starcraft Tri-toon w/ 250hp Merc OB, JL audio stereo, GPS, and an aft sun deck that raises and folds into a bar with removable bar stools. $90K.

NFW. They are getting in a 20ft model of the same thing with a 115 merc and are asking $40K. Still way too much.

That's crazy talk.

Anyway, Last week was Harley Fest in the Milw. area.
I don't ride much anymore, less than 500 miles a year (22k miles on my '94 FLSTC). So we had the Grand-kids for the weekend.

My daughter used my bike Sunday to cruise around the State, from Sussex to Door Co., over to Bonduel, then back home. 400 miles in one day. That's more than I ride in a year .

My Daughter and her husband have 3 bikes; a '95 Sportster (her's), '16 Dyna, and '20 Street Glide. The Sportster blew up late last year, and the SonInLaw dumped the Dyna in a road accident back in July - still in the shop being repaired. His buddy drove up the back of the Dyna at 60mph.

Huge Harley fan here. Seems like we are repeating the not too distant past and many dealerships are charging a premium on bikes? Love them but can live without that nonsense.

Harley Davidson of Atlanta definitely wants to sell bikes. I got a great deal from them, and would send anyone their way. A dude named Mike Derisi is the guy to talk to there.

I’ve always liked the Dyna bikes. My 1st Harley was a Dyna Lowrider.
HD has dropped the Dyna line a year or 2 ago.

Larry.

I don’t quite get dropping the Dyna line. They were somewhat the performance bikes in the lineup. People still gush about the FXR for example.

I agree.
Back when the 88 “Twinkie” was the rage, and the only motor offered across the HD lineup…
A lot of performance minded guys heralded the Dyna. Same motor offered on the bagger but on a smaller and lighter frame.

The claim was the “B” -for counterbalanced- engine robbed power. I dunno. Sounds kinda sketchy.
