I believe and everyone I have talked to said it seems to be totaled. There is damage on the rear that the picture does not show. My wife was so upset. We had just paid it off last year. But I think she was very lucky, two feet more to the rear and things could have been a lot different.

The adjuster from Geico called today and said he was going to look at it tomorrow.
He asked where I would like it to be repaired at?
I just laughed and said we could talk about that after he looks at it.

It's smoked. That car looks about as bad as my mom's Camry did when a city 3-axle truck hit it. The salvage value was something like $1500. Since it's a Jag, salvage will be more in the range of $10k...maybe.

Bent frame (surely)

Engine is toast (has to be)

More damage elsewhere (already verified)

Airbags went off (assuming, surely!)

Admittedly I do not know much about Jags but that looks severe. It took a huge impact in really the most expensive to repair part of the vehicle, where 75% of the high-cost components live. Fortunately, the part of the vehicle containing the highest value component was relatively unscathed.

Yes the side curtain airbag and the seat airbags both went off. The seat airbag melted a good size hole in her polyester jacket. Good thing she was wearing a cotton shirt underneath to allow it to melt onto vice her skin.

Just those right there up the ante $5-$8k or so. It's so totaled that Total cereal is asking for a spoon.
