It's no longer fashionable. Thirty years ago, people tried to be different by getting tattoos. The shock value wore off when their grandmothers started coming home with daisies around their wrists and ankles. Then the blue, green, and pink hair colors came into fashion. Again, shock value. It wore off when their mothers started doing it. Young people today crave instant gratification and demand to shock their peers and parents. Now, they have turned to perverting their sexuality. I predict that this fad, too, will wear off. Right now, the LGBT crowd has center stage because the media is celebrating them. I give it two or three years before something new comes along and the media casts them out like worn out shoes. They will look back at photos of themselves with pink hair and large rings through their noses like Aboriginals and they will shake their heads in wonderment at just how ridiculous they looked.

Brilliant and on-point observation. As a CA native, have seen this unwind for the past 30+ years and you nailed it. It's all about the 'LOOK AT ME!' attitude of the Participant Trophy Generation. The indoctrinated ones.
