I don't know what happened, but our fun, often irreverent little playground, has become toxic, unwelcoming, and most of all.....not fun.

This is a problem. Many of us have invested untold amounts of time and useless drivel here and don't want to see the place implode.

So I'm asking everyone here to take moment for self reflection. Why am I here? Am I getting something positive out of being here? Am I contributing content that is humorous, informative, and thought provoking, or am I contributing personal attacks and negativity?



Let's all pledge to do better, and make our playground a place people want to have recess at again. Who's with me?

Aside from being busy with work and kids, this is why I've pulled back over the last couple years.

Not much good stuff to jump in on when folks are fighting dirty and politicizing almost every thread.
My best contribution to this forum has been to never jump into pissing matches, ever.

No way any of us can be put into one of 2 boxes. I doubt I'd have a hard time having a beer/coffee with any of you fukkers.

People need to realize that their opinions are not as important as they think they are, I know mine isn't. No one is going to change anyone's life here, it's just a place to blow off steam. Need to turn the serious dial way down.

Remember, this behavior is what got a lot of people exiled here in the first place and caused the change in the environment over there, don't want to see a change in mod's involvement here as well.

I recognize that, and I'm vowing to post less political stuff in OT, and less covid injection content in OT. Obviously it will be difficult to completely eliminate those threads, but I am pledging to post less of them, and when I do, pledge that they will be more general interest that might be of interest to most members.

Having said that, I do think the OD-esque headlines are in keeping with the finest traditions of the Barn, so I intend to keep doing those.


Edit: When I get the itch to post political shit, I'll try to put most of the political stuff in PR&C, where threads go to die alone, unloved and unread.
