Lars you gave that advice to egghead months ago as did I...well before GTO did. Egghead doesn't take advice...and now he is sitting on a POS worth less than his monthly payments. He will ride that to the grave.

I'm just stating that in my experience, for whatever reason, some cars are magnets. They get hit early and often. The irony is, they always seem to be better mechanically than their unscathed counterparts. So for Yadkin, a stoic and practical do-it-yourselfer, that might be just fine. It is, after all, a truck.

I'd rather a utility truck be the magnet instead of my Porsche or my classics.

We were prepared to write a check for the new Explorer we bought last month - until they put our info into Ford Credit and we got offered 0% financing. I'll leave that money in an investment account where it's growing instead of writing a check to the dealer. Winning!

I've always had a mortgage payment. It's a way to leverage money. Right now I'm paying less than 3% on my house, and making over 10% on my investments. No brainer there.

Yep, same here. Current rates I'm getting on a cash account (money market) plus what percent a car loan is, dictate how much I may or may not borrow.

You have one classic (Whitebird) and one classic timebomb (Fiat) that you need to assemble and pass on to someone who lives too far away from you to visit.

Those 124's are getting up in value, particularly the early, good looking ones like yours, before the bumpers got all goofy. I'll bet they're double the value they were 8-10 years ago.

The Porsche is only as good as it's roadcam. Which is sadly non-operrational.

Johnson City is a great place. Frieberg's restaurant is authentic German. There are some nice brew-pubs.
