The people that I speak of live in Voorhees NJ, where they went at around 10:30am, after determining that all saving efforts, on Brigantine were futile.(The Borgata Casino is on the land side of the Brigantine Island bridge. I've been on the White Horse Pike many a time...Holy shit ! The entire Atlantic city area is a nightmare...

Northport LI is weathering 90+ mph winds.They're on the north shore.... We , here in the burbs of Buffalo are just getting pounded with rain right now. The wind is only 30+ mph.

My SIL just texted my wife from the basement in Northport....It seems if they'll survive the wind, but may not survive my BIL's, brother's gas problem...

AC, Brigantine and most if not all of the barrier islands of NJ are submerged.

It was difficult enough getting homeowner's insurance in those communities before, it will be next to impossible now.

A friend's boat was shrink wrapped and on blocks in a marina on the north end of Brigantine. He's wondering if it floated away. He lost his previous boat at that same marina when a freak storm came through and capsized and sank it while in its slip.

Maybe now he'll take my advice to keep his boat (#3?) somewhere else.

Glad I didn't move to Margate 5 years ago like I almost did...

The Pirate's Den, down at that end is gone, so ya.....His boat is probably gone too.
The beach house's first floor is about 15'- 16' above the water at high tide. I wonder if it's swamped......CNN just showed AC, and it's 5' under water, and high tide is two hours away... Yow ! This sucks...
Margate, 5 years ago was peaking, as far as real estate prices go...Good non-move...
