Default Son was accepted at WVU!
He's a rising senior and WVU had early admission so we applied and found out yesterday that he was accepted. He wants to study forensics (don't ask me why) as they have one of the top schools for that. He's in an engineering track at his school but says that it's too much math... seems he doesn't want to follow his old man in to that field... I get it.

He does not want to try out for their baseball team, but we'd like to see him play club ball but that'll be up to him.

It's good to see him excited for the next phase of his life, looking for great things from him.

Dub V has a bunch of old student housing on campus where they stage crime scenes for the forensic students. It is supposed to be a strong program there.

Yes, when we did our campus visit earlier in the year they showed us those houses. The drama and theater students play the victims at the scene. We were told that the student would get a call that a crime was committed at home 1 or 2 and they are to get there as soon as possible to start the investigation.

They also have the body burial yard. Any disclosure of where that is located is instant expulsion.

We also toured Western Carolina that has basically the same program and it's much closer but he thought it was too small of a school. He said he wanted to be in a larger D1 school.

It's our older daughter's job to bust her brother's balls.

Very cool to see where their choices take them. Forensics is an interesting field; used to work with a girl that did that part time. She was super cool, quirky etc.
It's a particular type that is drawn to that profession I'd think.

Some of the stories she told were pretty off the charts. You learn to eat your breakfast earrrrrly in the morning.

Smart move. AI is going to replace all engineers, but there will always be an increasing need for Crime Scene Investigators.

If you reside in NC why pay out-of-state tuition?

I told both my kids the same thing: "You can go to college wherever you want, but we're paying for State." Both went to NC state colleges.
