My first Vette was a 1994 Arctic White LT-1. Loved the car, then the ex suggested I trade it in. I did (stupidly) and have regretted it ever since. Loved my C5, but my next Vette WILL be a 1996 LT-4 Collector's Edition. I think it's gorgeous.

Mine
Mine is based on a 96 Grand Sport. I started with a 86 roller, the only thing left of that car is the frame and Diff. It has been completly rebuilt both in side and out a few times. It is now an Open Road Race car. Open Road racing is a 90-130 mile high speed time/distance rally. You pick a speed you will average for the whole course (a closed desert road in Nevada).
www.openroadracing.com Whoever else picks the same speed is in your class, The racer in your class closest to a perfect time is the winner. I average 170mph with speeds over 200mph. If you look to the blue car in my sig you will see I have hit 207mph so far. The handling on this car is amazing. I can take turns rated 50 at 150+. it was built by one of my friends and mechanic Rich Kimble in Boise,ID I speak of rebuilding inside and out, here is one of the times: That is what happens when you blow a tire at 204mph. All the damage was from the tire EXPLOSION, there was not impact.

Currently C4-less, but with very fond memories of my '84 and '86 C4 coupes.
I intend to start the search in 2010 for a '96 Grand Sport to keep my new C6 Grand Sport company. |

I bought it off Ebay...flew to Miami, guy picked me up, I paid him cash, and drove it home. I had never driven one before. It is the biscayne model... white over black, auto, coupe. I've had it 9 years... yea, it ain't worth chit It runs good and has plenty of off the line torque that makes me smile. 106k on the clock. I've driven a C5...the interior didn't do anything for me like the C4 does. Yea, I'm crazy |

My 1st vette is a 94 coupe, it's my DD 162,000 miles and still rolling strong. 2nd vette is a 2005 coupe. I love them both, but they are worlds apart.

Hey everybody, I'm new to the VB forum, but I've been on CF for a little while. I'm relatively young and this is my first Vette. 85 with the TPI, 6 speed Richmond trans, faux Z06 rims, and all the good stuff any young kid wants on his car. Oh, and my name is Karl, I live in Chesapeake and I goto school at ODU. So there's a chance for me to drive the car 50 miles each (nice) day.

1989 L98 Coupes
- Is it what you want or a stepping stone to something else?
I own two 89 coupes. One's an automatic that helped teach the Beachcombers how to auto-x back in 2001/2002 while the other is a Z51 daily driver. Since the L98 C4's are essentially the 57 Chevy for this generation of hot rodders, I'm not looking to use either car as a stepping stone to something else. - What do you like about your car? Both cars are easy to maintain with a factory service manual and some diagnostic software. The SBC L98 responds well to various tweaks and peaks. You can go wild or mild and still have money in the bank plus longevity in your engine. - What do you not like? What I don't like about the 88-91 C4's is the frisbee on the front of the water pump. Get rid of it if you haven't so far. With the frisbee's weight on the end of the water pump, you end up replacing water pumps every 60K miles. Plus every accessory on the engine is somehow connected to the four bolts securing the water pump to the block! - What are you working to fix/upgrade? Since I auto-x, most of my mods now are suspension/braking related. Terminal understeer at speed isn't too much fun. Having reliable 20+ year old brakes is another story since I have to retain the stock units to remain in my current class (B Street Prepared). Still, even on street tires, I remained competitive in my class (in first place) up until the very last event of the year. (Just lost out by a couple of points!) - What is your favorite upgrade? Aftermarket mufflers!! The stock units are so quiet, you could leave the car running after you parked it. A Vette should sound like a Vette, not like the murmuring wind. Take Care! I have a white 85, purchased it when I turned my 77 into a track car. The reason: because this woman wanted to be in a vette 24/7.
I like the c4 but it will be sold had it long enough (since 94) and will probably get a worked c5. Hopefully one that was modded by ECS.
