Default got pounded by rain again yesterday and today

No drought worries around here

The normally little Hosensack Creek over flowed it's back and literally "ate" the road away. I drive past this spot on my way to work ( 1.5 miles from home ) but will be going a different route until it's repaired and opened again.

The Hosensack Creek story begins at 1:08

http://www.wfmz.com/news/pennsylvani...unty/780475743

Just to the east about 10 miles, a coworker lives in Coopersburg and when he got home, the parking lot was flooded. His newer Mustang had muddy water up to the top of the wheels. Crap all over the engine compartment and water inside covering the seat bottoms.

Hopefully the insurance company totals it so he doesn't have massive problems later.

I am originally from Harrisburg and still have family there. This has been a really wet summer and they have had widespread small stream flooding

I haven't been able to mow my yard in over 2 weeks due to how much rain we've gotten.

The guy who lost his Mustang said the creek that overflowed is normally about 6" deep and 4' wide. He's lived there for 25 years and this is the highest he's ever seen it.

The ground is so saturated that any heavy rain immediately floods.

At least it's not snow

Although it hasn't rained her for 2 weeks, before that we had torrential rains for several days in a row. 4" per hour. Sun room flooded as did the dining room, ruining the recently laid wood on the floor in the dining room, plus over $800 to clean an Oriental rug. And the grass keeps growing....

I personally can't say, having moved to Florida 21 years ago, but the last two winters have been very strange....winter of early '17 was non existent, temps VERY mild, even over night, maybe 6 or so nights in the 30's and never froze....but last winter was a total BITCH, think it was Md. or something...freeking THREE weeks of damn yankee cold, froze down to 17* overnight with highs in lo 40's....so bad it killed a HELL of a lot of my palm trees leaves, wiped out many an ornamental I had planted over a year ago, front fountain recirculating water from a pan in the ground, froze over but good, had to unplug the pump even....all of wife's plants in the garage, hung from ceiling.....not just over night, but for 3 weeks straight...

and THIS summer it has been hotter than HELL and the rains will NOT quit.....every damn day, nearly......

Your rain made the national news....
That car dealership in NJ where the cars floated away and ended up in a big pile cinched that deal.

We've gotten over 14" of rain in three weeks.

Oh, it rained today too but just over a 1/2" rain today so flooding was minimal.

DFW officially had less than 4" April through a couple weeks ago. Official rainfall at DFW airport for August close to 3" but surrounding areas got 10+. Pool running over here. Small issue compared to cares being washed away. To bad NorCal can't get some of this.

Reminds me of the weather we've seen in Houston multiple times in the past couple years.

Shit gets crazy in a hurry. Stay safe and stay dry!
