That stupid assed ranking might as well be done by Al Gore. No definition of what is being ranked. Moronic.

The latest study follows the same basic guidelines of 2020-22 and this year hits 100 vehicles on a list judged through five criteria: assembly location, parts content, engine origin, transmission origin and U.S. manufacturing workforce. Ultimately, Cars.com vetted 388 vehicles to arrive at the 100 that made the index.

So - the most parts made in the USA? Thrilling.

Without me looking, can anyone confirm my suspicions that there must be some Teslas on the list? I just have a hunch here.

To be eligible for the tax credit, the battery has to be mostly sourced from the US or our trade partners. |

Even if the batteries were not US made (but they actually are, at least most of them), the batteries for the high volume cars only cost less than $6000. The model S/X batteries cost about $13k to $20k but Model 3/Y only cost $6000.
Right now, the requirement is that AT LEAST 50% of battery materials need to be sourced in the US or our trade partners. This goes up 10% every year to maintain the full tax credit. |

Not surprising, the big three suck at management, they need lower costs parts and labor to compete, as cannot afford the uaw pricing.
All three make parts and assemble in messico, rams and gm trucks are assembled south of the border. |

Love it. They still put in a V6, and all Ridgelines since 2020'ish are AWD.
Of all mid-sized pickups, the Ridgeline has the widest interior; a good 3 inches more interior width than the Taco, Canyon. Colorado, Ranger. That was important to me as the last 3 pickups I owned were full sized. |

Funny, I remember a time when being an American built car would have been a good thing...
