Default Family and the Holidays.

My sister, brother-in-law and nieces from Amarillo came in for Thanksgiving last night. The problem, my brother in law is nuts. For whatever reason, when he gets down here we eat..............and eat and eat and eat. The we have a meal, drink a beer or two and eat some more. And the fact that he is one of the top 5 smartest people I have ever met, usually means 95% of my waking hours are spent with either a smile on my face or just laughing so damn hard my sides hurt. I don't think it is so much the holidays but just the times when my family all gets together that makes things so good around here.
Let's hear from ya'll, family members you love to see or family members you regret seeing?

Well...

I'll be spending Thanksgiving at home with my kids, my g/f Steph, NikiQ and her hubby Zed and their boys. Bucky and Mrs. Bucky will be here. It'll be a nice gathering.

The sad part is that it'll be the first Thanksgiving since my mom passed away. Now both my folks are gone. I'll bury the sadness very deep so as not to ruin everyone's good time, but it'll be there.

My mom and sister live in Killeen, TX, so I would like to spend time with them during the holidays, my aunt and uncles live in Jamaica and Germany, I would also like to see them but since it's rather difficult I'm happy spending it with a childhood buddy of 30 years and his family.

The wife is pissed at me. My mom invited us to her house....Well I'm not a fan of mom's cooking. I barely survived as a kid and moved out at 18...........Ok back on topic. Well being the quick thinker that I am I told my mom that they ( mom and dad ) should come over to our house for dinner. Now my wife is pissed because she has to make a big dinner.

Just to throw some gas on the fire I called her today at work and asked her if she could make a Ham to go with the turkey. I even offered to pick one up on my way home.I had her on speaker so my guys could hear her answer.

I have a large family and when we get together we have a great time. There are never any arguements or problems and its always been that way my whole life. I also have lots of friends many of who have known me over 30 years. All of which know everything about me. With all I've been through over the years I still have my family and all my long term friends as well as many new ones.

Here's to a Happy Thanksgiving and the start of a great Holiday Season.

Thanks again for including us in the invites. Would love to be with all of you. So thankful to count you as dear friends.

Very very thankful though to be going to my daddy's for the day. There will be about 40 folks from my stepmoms family there and just me and Kevin from my daddys side. LOL. But yum there are good cooks in his wife's family!

I still miss my mom so much. I am thankful though that my dad found happiness again after my mom passed.

I'm glad you'll be surrounded by love tomorrow IC. That will help make missing your mom not hurt so much. Xo

Just two of us here, so making just a small dinner. Homemade pies just coming out of the oven. I'll probably drop by a buddy's house later on say hello to the dog and watch some football (go Saints, boo Cowpatties). I'm not big on holidays, too damn much work.

Just our 4 girls, our one son-in-law and one of the boyfriends and the wifes grandma.
I'm cooking and Mrs. TG is baking. Nice and quiet this year

Frying a couple of turkeys for the family while my wife and kids go to her mothers. Deer hunting Friday morning. Just like every year.

Nothing says Happy Thanksgiving like shooting animals.

We are all looking forward to sharing Thanksgiving with you!

Since I live so far from my family, being with good friends makes the holidays just as special.
