Default [Wood Working] Check out what we made for the dog today

An older gentleman that's been volunteering his time to help my wife's school project invited us out to his ranch today to make an elevated food/water bowl stand for my dog. Since he's a Great Dane this is a must.

Man, this shop he has was huge. I had to be at least twice the size of my house (which is a pretty decent size). Well, come to find out he is a Mason and a Shriner.... both of which I am, too. So that there started the afternoon off really well and lead to some interesting conversations along with a lot of "Hey, I know that guy, too" type of stuff.

He had more tools and stuff in there than I knew what to do with. It was almost like heaven... just with a lot of saw dust.

Oh, and his land is big enough to shoot on. He invited us to go SCUBA diving to find my guns and bring out the arsenal next time along with trying out the Tommy Gun he just purchased, too.

Here's pics of what we made. I'm glad he did the cutting because I can never cut a straight line even with a guide. Hell, a coked up Charlie Sheen could cut a more straight line than me. And yes, we need to put some stain or varnish on this in the next day or two

Oh, cool! That's neat. The dog will really appreciate it, too.

Yeah. I appreciate it because he's getting more food down his throat than on the floor

Thanks. The way we took the measurement was from the floor to my belt loop. That's about two inches lower than the dogs back.

I have been spending more time at my feeding trough next to it these days

My wife and dog both want me to get a nice pontoon boat with a 150hp O/B motor.

We had to upgrade from a nice, fast 18' I/O to a slow as molasses 24' pontoon because of the dog.

Not bad. I'm sure it's better with the dog, though.

I really like the pontoon other than the lack of speed. ( it does top out at 22 mph {gps} but the I/O went 48 mph ) Lots of space, extremely stable and a roof to keep us out of the sun

Mochi likes it too

That's cooler than the other side of the pillow! Cool about him being a Mason too, you guys are in a great brotherhood, I wish I had shown an interest years ago when my Dad was still living. He was a Mason and lived and breathed the Order.

It's all good stuff. Not too late for you, though.

If my dog was that tall she would have figured out how to work the tap on that kegerator by now.

We keep all beer away from Mochi. At 160 lbs, he could drink some beer

There's a reason why I turn the flow valve off when I'm not using it. He figured it out about a year ago. Since I started disabling it, he's left it alone....but he still likes to have a beer every now and then
