Must admit I do miss the Aussie twang and sense of humour. We might get to meet one day.

This will be our first Thanksgiving with our 10 month old grandson we are adopting, kind of special as I was happy being a empty nester and now being a father again of a youngster is putting some zip in our life, oh giving my wifey a break and taking the family out for the dinner

Daughter moved to NYC back in September. Son is with his mother's family. Girlfriend is out of town. I'm meeting some friends for lunch at a restaurant in a little while. If son gets back early enough we'll probably head over to the Autorama.

We're headed to lunch with my wife's family as my Dad went to see my brother and Co. in St Louis.

I'm sure it'll be festive as my idiot brother-in-law and his family have been here since Monday - and you know what Mark Twain said about fish and houseguests after three days. I expect fireworks and at least one good pissed off argument before the Cowboys kickoff.

Afterwards, we're headed to Chefs and hope that will lighten the mood. We have a lot to be thankful for this year - the Mrs is better, work has stabilized and we have some great friends to celebrate with.

I hope all you guys have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Just got home from dinner with the Mother in Law. The rest of the family is too far away and too spread out. The wife and I have only celebrated one holiday with our families in the 20 years we have been married. It seemed I was either deployed or about to be deployed and the families have just left it at that after I retired.
Tomorrow we fire up the smoker and cook a bird while everyone is out shopping like crazy. Time to stay off the roads and hunker down.
