Baseball related post...
First, sorry Houston but I think your Astros just screwed the proverbial pooch. Gave up a 4-run lead in the 8th. No bueno. Game 5 in KC will not be ideal. This just leads into the following:
1. The Cubs are pitching Jake Arrieta tonight. You may have seen him pitch last Wednesday in the one-game playoff against the Pirates. In Chicago this time. It will be insane, game starts in about 40 minutes on TBS. 2. The Royals, well, I wasn't really thinking they were going to get through their first series, but now that looks somewhat likely. 3. I was at the Bears/Chiefs game yesterday sporting my crappy old grey Bears t-shirt. It was hot. Plenty of Chiefs fans there, lots of Bears fans too, and about 50/50 Bears fans were Sox or Cubs fans. We can discount the opinion of Sox fans for the sake of this discussion. Chiefs fans are rather ambiguous about the Bears so I actually talked to many of them and nearly every single one said the same thing to me. "Are you a Cubs fan?" Yes. "It would be awesome to see a Cubs/Royals World Series." Yes, yes it would. 4. If the Cubs win tonight and end up winning their series against the Cards, and the Royals win tomorrow at home, the chances of this happening are actually surprisingly good. That is all. Edit: Royals don't play until Wednesday, my mistake! |

KC Royals can rally, they proved that last year.
The Chiefs on the other hand, can't fight there way out of a wet paper bag. |

That game was so painful to watch, I was shocked the Bears pulled it out but wow the Chiefs really do suck. Felt bad about the Chiefs running back Charles though, he's a good player and now he's out for the season (knee). Found out that he's "special needs", meaning he's sorta mentally developmentally challenged. Supposedly a super sweet guy in person.

There are so many problems with this team, I could bitch all day about it. Reid calls the offensive plays and he is HORRIBLE at managing the clock. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING AN OC WHEN YOU DON'T LET HIM DO HIS JOB? Shit, we have Childress on the payroll as an offensive analyst, let him call the friggen plays. Reid's pass happy and he has a dink and dunk Quarterback that gets scared in the pocket and can't throw deep accurately. Smith doesn't look downfield, he focusses on the Rush. If you watch game tape, he CONSTANTLY does dumb shit when he has WIDE OPEN receivers RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. It's totally aggravating. Reid and Sutton don't make adjustments, and frankly I think they are outdated. The entire league has this team figured out. All they have to do is Blitz and Rush Smith and he gets spooked and ****s up. Sorry to hijack your baseball thread, but the Chiefs are really pissing me off something fierce. There is no killer instinct and no heart. |

Collin McHugh went to the small private school that my daughter went to, and where my wife has worked for many years. Collin's brother still attends I believe so she's in contact with the family occasionally. That's created some interest for us.

Huge Cubs fan here! Worn the same lucky jersey two days in a row now. The one playoff game I didn't wear it, they lost. Cannot take that chance again!

In case you forgot, in Back to the Future 2 the Cubs were 2015 World Series Champs with a 5-0 sweep victory in the 9 game series over Miami.
