You have first pick for the NFL's All-Time Team's quarterback. The 10 possibilities are Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Johnny Unitas, Otto Graham, Sammy Baugh, John Elway, Peyton Manning, Roger Staubach, Brett Favre and Dan Marino.
Have fun.
Members of a special panel of 26 selected all of them for the position as part of the NFL's celebration of its 100th season. All won league titles except Marino. All are in the Hall of Fame except Brady and Manning, who are not yet eligible.
On Friday night, quarterback was the final position revealed for the All-Time Team.

The NFL career TD and passing yardage leader, and I believe completion percentage leader, is not even listed.

Maybe I am biased, but I pick Drew Brees.

3 to 4 of the choices are pretty much before anyone's memory so they're out.
Otto, Sammy, Johnny, and even Half of Roger's Highlights are in Black & White, non-living color...

Brady used under inflated balls.

Marino played half his games not on the Frozen Tundra.

Peyton was too systematic in short passing - moving the chains - stat building - boring play.

Montana was the beneficiary of a creative offensive scheme that stumped traditional defenses.

Elway had a helluva an arm and dropped bombs rather accurately.

That Leaves Farve... I hate him as a Bears Fan, but he had a killer instinct - an "it" factor that propelled him to extend and make plays when he should have been sacked.

The NFL needs QB's with Personalities that resonate with the fan base..
Therefore honorable mentions go to Joe Namath ( I'd like to Kiss Suzy Colber too )

And Jim McMahon, the Punky QB, who was played with broken neck and spoke to a generation of Championship Deprived Chicago Degenerates with a demeanor of professionalism and served as role model to many life long losers proving that being different can work and result in wins in the game, and life.

No one commanded the field like Manning did. His evaluation of defenses is unparalleled.

Tie between Manning and Favre for me.

If you included any of the "new" QB's in the league, Mahomes is probably the most interesting. He reads defenses well, can throw from weird angles (gunslinger) and he has the "killer" instinct.

John Elway. He took them to three Super Bowls with no WR's or RB's. And a lousy Head Coach. Any other QB and they were a 7-9 or 8-8 team. When he finally got a WR and RB he won back to back Super Bowls. A good runner with a powerful arm.

Joe Montana. He knew how to win.

Most overrated QB in NFL history, Joe Namath. Barely a 50% passer. Threw
173 TD with 220 Int.

His claim to fame is THEY won a Super Bowl not Joe Namath. Joe threw for a little over 200 yards in the Super Bowl with NO TD's His defense gave up 7 points in the game they were the MVP's.

The pick for best quarterback after being up all night drinking the night before the game goes to Ken Stabler.

I guess it depends on how important you think stats are. For the list to include Staubach, and not include Brees, indicates that whoever made this list pretty much didn't give a shit about career stats.

IMO, Staubach was great, and I know his career was shortened by his military service, but in the top 10 greatest quarterbacks of all time? Seriously?

Jamarcus Russell. He could throw the ball 60+ yards in his knees.
