No decorating nor music until Thanksgiving and then usually Sunday after Thanksgiving I'll throw tree up. I did move a bookshelf where tree goes today.

I normally wait until the Saturday after thanksgiving but I’m getting ready to put my tree up now with lights only. I’ll leave it with no ornaments until next weekend. The kitten we took in earlier this year...it’ll be her first Christmas. She needs to be introduced to the tree with no ornaments right now (and with the spray bottle handy).

Lights outside went up today because it was 75° and sunny. But those won’t be turned on until after Thanksgiving.

I will be on the receiving end of the attic ladder Friday immediately after work. We will then spend all of next week trying to find room for all 30 year's accumulation of fond memories and family gifts (we have a PILE of ornaments)!

I wouldn't worry about the kitten. They never seem to take an interest in the Christmas tree or batting the ornaments off after they climb it.....

There is nothing like coming home from work and everything seems calm and cool. Until I noticed the tree shaking......

She’s about a year old now (vet’s estimate). But she’s still kitten-ish in her behavior. The two boys couldn’t have cared less about the tree last year. She’s more mischievous than the boys, though. 😏

We'll be on our property this weekend as we do every weekend of Thanksgiving and make the trek up in the mountains to drive around for miles, snow, rain or shine, to find the "perfect tree" that always turns out to be bigger than what fits in the house...

I put up most of the indoor stuff after Halloween.

No outside lights until after Thanksgving so the neighbors don't know I'm crazy.

I like to add new things every year. This year I added 2 9 foot tall pencil trees in our kitchen on either side of the bay window where our kitchen table is and strung them with decent sized multi-color led bulbs.

Pics please?

Sometimes it takes a while for the "kitten-ish" behavior to go away. As in years......

Meet Junior, he is about 3 years old and still trouble. Trouble galore. He had just made some sort of mess and wanted me to partake also.

I haven't put up any lights in about five years or so. If I do, it will be to just drape some bushes with those "bush lights". I've had it with getting ladders out and all that jazz. I'm not bah humbug though.

Junior is adorable.

Blue is the grey and white girl on the left. Cheddar is the big boy (>16 lbs) on the right. Oscar (15 lbs) is the one in the sink (on the counter he’s not allowed to be on).

Cheddar and Oscar are polydactyl brothers. We adopted them last year. They were pretty sick and were rescued because they were about to be put down. Blue showed up cold and wet and shivering earlier this year. Meowing for food at the back door. Small, undernourished baby that (somehow) ended up at the vet and then inside.

Cute kitties, thanks for the pics!

However, I can see some trouble brewing there. It looks like Blue and Cheddar are plotting something out.......
