Chik-Fil-A is one of, if not THE best fast food joint out there. The employees are ALWAYS over polite to an almost annoying degree. The service is always quick, and I have NEVER had my order screwed up. The food ain't too bad either.

He said he supports the Biblical definition of marriage. But that's not news, everyone knows that Chik-Fil-A is a Christian run business...ever go there on Sunday? They're closed. But that's not news, so in order to make it news and cause controvery and divert attention away from the real problems we face, it was spun as anti-gay marriage.

The problem is that here are many definitions and meanings, both explicit and implicit, of the word "marriage." It means different things in different cultures and/or religions, regardless of what it looks like to outsiders. In some it means the joining of two equals. In others it means the joining of a whole bunch. I still others it means transfer of ownership of the female from one master to another. In some it is a sanctification for the purpose or intent of procreation to foster the continued existence and growth of a particular religion.

I agree with the statement that government should get out of the business of marriage, totally. Marriage, as an institution, should be left to the respective religions. IMHO, current marriage laws in the United States are a violation of the Constitutional concept of separation of church and state.

That said, I believe that there should be a contractual method available for the establishment of civil, legal partnerships between any one person and any one other person that is totally separate from any religious partnership.

I disagree with his statement and will not be going there anymore (I only go there when we travel to visit family in Virginia/SC where they have them). He's free to have his opinions, but I'm also free to not go there. I won't make a big deal out of it, I'll just find another place to eat and when I get a craving, I'll just make my own.

As far as Boston and Chicago go, I disagree with the mayors trying to block the stores from getting into the cities. If the people have a big enough "beef" with them, then don't eat there.
