Giffords responding to commands
Giffords Able to Communicate
Still in critical condition *Breaking* Gabrielle Giffords is able to communicate, according to a surgeon at the University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Doctors treating Giffords report that they are “very, very encouraged” by her ability to respond to simple commands and are optimistic about her chances for survival. Doctors have also been successful in controlling her bleeding. The bullet went through Giffords’ head on the left side of the brain, but she has been able to respond to commands such as squeezing a hand and showing two fingers. Doctors say the fact that Giffords survived is a combination of good luck and the fact that surgeons got to her quickly. "This is about as good as it is going to get," said Dr. Peter Rhee, a trauma surgeon. "When you get shot in the head and the bullet goes through your brain, the chances of you living is very small and the chances of you waking up and actually following commands is even much smaller than that. Hopefully it will stay that way." |

(R-Idaho) Raul Labrador ~ *We have Crazies on both sides*
Politicians split on meaning of Giffords shooting.
Tone of debate in the country partly to blame for violence, or the work of a deranged individual? Today Politicians split on meaning of Giffords shooting - Politics - msnbc.com The reverberations of Saturday’s shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., rumbled through Washington as shocked members of Congress focused on the state of the nation’s political discourse. The early reactions unveiled a split between those who said the shooting reflected the passionate tone of partisan debate in the country and others who said the rampage that killed six people was the work of a deranged individual. On NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, a fellow member of the Arizona delegation, Republican Rep. Trent Franks said it was ironic that when Giffords “was out doing her job as a member of Congress, some deranged degenerate shot her down. And I will tell you that I think that’s an attack not only on freedom and the country itself; it’s an attack on humanity.” (Read continues in Link) Also ~ Neal Boortz pathetically weasling himself out of all his right-wing vitriol of hate by blaming Obama for this tragedy... (see todays Boortz) Freshman Republican ~ Rep. Raul Labrador, R- Idaho, just elected last November, said ... “We have to be careful not to blame one side or the other, because both sides are guilty of this. You have extremes on both sides. You have crazy people on both sides.” |

Par for the course for the left I suppose. Same story with the IRS Plan crash, professor who opened fire, Pentagon shooter, etc. None of whom actually turned out to be Tea Party advocates. Just like this young man, who also has been found not to be one. You want someone to blame for the state of American politics? Look in the mirror. The country should be mourning, but instead people who share my beliefs can't, because they have to once again be on the defensive against people like you two who just can't help but politicize (FALSELY I might add) the tragedy while the woman is still fighting for her life. Shameless. |

Blaming Obama is of course as stupid as blaming Sarah Palin or the Tea Party, but I might point out just how hypocritical the lefts attacks have been, in addition to crass and disgusting: 1. Corvette Forum - View Single Post - Old reminder and new guideline PSA (please read) This forum has been getting uglier and nastier of late, and that trend is over. Things are going to get more civil around here one way or the other. New guideline: I already had a rule about threats of violence directed at the President or other officials, as it is actually a violation of the law to write or say such things, and neither IB or CF specifically need that nonsense on their site. The rule was an automatic month off with no discussion or warning. Well, recently several folks have been advocating killing someone or some group with alarming frequency, and I have gotten a bunch of reports and PMs about just about every post of that kind. So I am now extending my PR&C guideline against typed advocating/threatening of violence by removing the Obama/official distinction. Now, if I see things that in my estimation even imply advocating or threatening of violence towards anyone, real or imagined, joking or not, I swing the ban hammer. I am already no big fan of Internet tough guys, but some of the stuff typed recently could actually constitute cause for CF and IB to get in trouble, and that simply will not be tolerated. So everyone is clear, my current definition of ban worthy violence includes anything about killing or doing serious bodily harm. |

Military analogies have always been and will continue to be used in sports, business, and POLITICS.
Obama talking about "bringing a gun" to a knife fight with Republicans, or Sarah Palin's PAC "targeting" candidates to be defeated is fine. Neither is a call to shooting people. But the left decided it was (only when Sarah Palin does it of course) not MINUTES after this woman had been shot in the head and others murdered, and ran with the false TEA PARTY RESPONSIBLE narrative yet again, just like with the other instances last year I mentioned above. It's SICK. Never should have happened. |

But you can keep denying the obvious, and I will not. If that bothers you, then good, it should. This is not political sniping, this is cowards acting out because things didn't go their way. Now that is shameless. See the difference? |
