Anyone ever "fight" the USPS on an address change?

Got a letter from the local postmaster who wants to change our town from Zionsville to Palm.

This house has been a Zionville mailing address for 65 years. We've moved here in 2003.

The major pain in the ass will be changing every single account we have. The biggest problem I see is the mortgage.
Others that will have to changed
Utilities
credit cards
health insurance
auto insurance
home owner insurance
ALL vehicle addresses
driver licenses
carry permits
stocks
401k
403b
and probably more I can't think of right now.

Anyone ever fight the change and win? The house isn't moving, the USPS wants to make my life difficult.

Oh, they want to change it Jan 18th

House built in 1945 and owner picked Zionsville for mail delivery at driveway instead of a mailbox IN the post office 2 miles away in Palm.

USPS wants to change my ZIP and that means I have to change everything else

Yep, when I owned my Gym they changed the name of the road it was on. Not a huge inconvenience or expense for me but a major headache for the guy that owned the place in the shopping center that rented several hundred mailboxes to customers.

Another time a gated development in my county grew so much the post office gave them a new zip code and made the name of their development their new town name. Their town had been an unincorporated town about 15 miles away. Lots of businesses there, too and lots of people operating businesses out of their homes. I worked at a print shop at the time and it was very profitable for us. People with businesses needed all new stationery, brochures, etc.

I don't think you're going to win this one. I do remember the PO giving us lots of time for the changeover, like 90 days or something like that.

They changed us from Evans to Grovetown. It wasn't that painful.

Early 60's, folks bought their last house out on Box113 rfd#3.....mailbox on post like all the others.....moving from a burb with walking mail delivery, large brown/leather? shoulder bag......

So no biggie, some ten? years later PO changed the addy to a 5 digit # and actually used the real street name the folks did whatEVER.....

SO when time for sis and I to sell the house, we went to the problem of the septic tank was backing up, so to get a permit for cleaning/digging/etc for some stupid reason, the addy of the house was not known by the county courthouse kept telling them it was there and their records were screwed up.....well, in fact the records WERE screwed up, PO never told the county of the change, I had to tell them of the old addy, and there the lid/tank/access locations were, still on file 30 years later....

know watt's super funny....that was the first time in 30 years the tank had been pumped.....just Mom/Dad in the house ....so go figger....

My sister went through this. I don't remember all the details, but they ended up not changing the town in her address, but the USPS basically said "we'll do whatever the **** we want with your zip code", so she had to change it on everything.

A neighbor did a few years ago and lost. He lived at the same place for over 50 years, his house was number 1. A developer bought the wooded vacant property next to him and put up 2 houses. His number was changed to 1C the others were given 1A 1B.

Its the federal equivalent of fighting town hall, they are going to do what they want and OBTY --Phuck you. He fought it for quite a while and that was basically the response he got!

Years ago, my friend moved to a little small town in Texas. He lived close to the post office, so they wouldn't deliver mail to his house, he had to pay for a P.O. box. His neighbor was the postman.

Our zip code was changed years ago it wasn't a big deal and also saved me some $$.

Oh well, it sucks to be me. Talked to two different post office folks and the postmaster.

The short version is the I can fight it if I want but I will lose in the end.
