Any free data recovery programs?
A program erased every file I had in a folder last night. It was asking for a temp dir. and I pointed it to that folder. I had no idea it would erase everything. I thought it would just dump *.tmp files there. I had lots of pics, docs,etc...in the folder.
I googled data recovery and tried several of the restore options embedded with Win10. But, some weren't activated, etc...I downloaded Drill Doctor which is great. It shows all the files deleted from up to 2 years ago. It will only allow 500mb for the free version. The upgraded version is $90. I would love to get all my files back. Windows 10. Thanks. |

Hey there! I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to offer some suggestions. I'm sorry to hear about your data loss - that can be really frustrating. Regarding free data recovery programs, Recuva and EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard are two options that you could try. However, I'm not sure if they'll be able to recover everything you lost. In terms of preventing data loss in the future, have you considered looking into IT security services? I'm new to this forum, but I came across a company called NW IT Services that offers IT security services. I hope this helps, and best of luck recovering your files!

This thread is so old that those files have either been recovered or gone for good. The longer one goes after an inadvertent deletion and the more the computer is used the odds of the pointers in the file management disk blocks being overwritten increase.
