The "Significant 60" - field full of 60's muscle cars
I can't help but wonder what would possess someone to simply squirrel away cars like this. Some pretty cool stuff, however.

I'm nearly speechless. I'd love to see something like this, in person and meet the person responsible. Absolutely amazing.

What would have been the cost of a steel building in the early 1970s, keeping them in a field in a snow state is inexcusable.
That collection would be worth over $30M if the cars were kept in a storage building. |

The individual who amassed all these cars passed away, but his son made a deal to sell about 60 of them. Some additional backstory below. |

If it were me, I would have priced a building and sold a few cars to pay for it. What would be left protected, would ultimately exceed the value of the entire lot left out in the weather.

Typical hoarder. I see it all the time out here where I am. Lots of land, lots of cars going to hell in the elements here. The sun bakes the interiors, the weatherstrip turns to dust, and then the water gets in and sits....and floors and trunks go away. And they are never for sale. They all are 'going to be restored' someday. to quote Doug: 'Smh'.

Great post.
I kinda like how he bought them and drove them and left them in a field. A true DILLIGAF. |

They were worth much for a very very long time.. Now, their worth stupid money caused by big auction sites and tv shows acting like they are something more than they are.
There is nothing special about most of them.. Sure, a Hemi, a tri power, a DZ 302 etc cars have rarity numbers. But they are just cheaply made cars. Hopefully everyone will think this way soon, so I can get one..lol |
