Default Florida International University FSAE vs. GWiz

This team joined us at our autocross track today and we gave them 3 hours of unlimited track time. They are a young team, but they gave G a chance to get exposed to the business and sport of racing on FSAE.

FWIW, she turned a lap of 32.9 on our novice school in my black vette on shit tires. The best lap the FIU team turned was 40.2 in their race car.

Geraghty Anne took 3 of them for hot laps in the black vette and they were absolutely blown away by her driving prowess. I took two laps and GWiz even beat me by 0.2 seconds.

Good exposure for everyone, the team gave GWiz a team t-shirt, and we've invited them back for every event we have until they race in Michigan for the championship next May.

I told them they need to let G set a lap time benchmark for them next time they return. Only one driver on the team has "a couple of autocrosses" under his belt.

It's going to be my pet project to help this team reach WAY beyond what they can get on their own. This is the teams 3rd year in existence, and only their second car.

Absolutely she has the BRZ and the Ninja Turtle Miata, both stick shift. Every 17 year old girl should have 2 cars, both being manual. That brings the total to 6 vehicles at our home, and we still get 4 of them in the 3-car garage, two of which are hers.

Most of the gated community dwellers where we live have multiple car garages, and have at most 1 car in the garage, and shit in the rest. My brother-in-law included.

We've extended all of the drivers on the FIU team access to our novice school in street cars. They need to learn how to drive for sure. We can definitely give them those skills.

Geraghty Anne was tickled by the fact that she annihilated college students, while driving an inferior car. She's still only a high school senior, but can't wait to take the right FSAE team to a top finish at their National championship in Michigan.

The biggest thing I'm seeing these teams are missing is DRIVERS.

Lucky girl

So when are you going to be adding the crawford turbo kit to the BRZ?

Sounds like your going to be managing this team?

I was telling my wife about this thread, explaining about her beating the team, and then told her about your handle, and that her name began with G so her handle is Gwiz.......she cracked a good smirk ......the news about her beating the team by 8 seconds on street tires, thumbs up......

Were the FIU FSAE using an electric or internal combustion engine? If internal combustion it should be limited to a maximum of 610 cc which is significantly less than the black Corvette but also significantly less weight.

Craig, are you going to have sufficient time to assist the BVHS electric team, these guys, still campaign your Solo car, and run a business? Seems like you are slicing that onion very, very thin.

And, if given the choice, I think that the majority of the VB members want GA to go out this year as the undisputed champion of the electric cars with the BVHS team winning the speed and endurance contests as well as the demonstration phase.

As I recall from last year's event we still had some engineering to complete so that the throttle could be regulated as the various drivers entered the slow down box prior to a driver change.

Their kart was gas and weighs about 500 pounds. It is capable of beating the vette with a good driver.

We will be pushing very hard for GWiz and Verot to win out again in her final year on the solar team!
