Loki was discharged around 11:15, which means we were there for 9 hours. We got back to the house around midnight.

Good news is, Loki is going to be fine. X-rays showed normal stuff inside. The folks at the hospital did say that it is normal for dogs with upset stomachs to not poop for a week. But, when we did get to the house, Loki did poop, and he pooped a bit today too. He is still on the bland diet of chicken and rice, which he goes nuts over. Being the God of Mischief and all, it wouldn't surprise me if planned the stomach issues just to get his chicken and rice.

Thank you for all the well wishes, it means a lot. :gropehug:

When mine had issues he'd have the squirts for a couple days getting worse then nothing for couple days and back to normal so sounds about right to me. Takes a few days build some inventory as they say.

That's what happened with Loki. However, we are extra cautious with him because of his history with ingesting things (socks) and his 2 prior surgeries when he was a pup. Blockage has the same symptoms as the GI issues, however, blockage if not treated can lead to death. So, when he didn't poop and was eating grass; I really freaked out. I love that knuckle head.

As snide stated,, we could not take Loki to the new vet as she was in surgery most of the day. She did call while we were at the ER and sent his recent blood work and stool results to the ER to help treat him. She also apologized for not being able to get back to me sooner then she did. I'm really impressed with her professional conduct and her compassion for Loki and us.

Coincidentally, the lady in the car next to us stuck up a conversation with me and she too was a patient at our former vet's office and was impressed with the fact that Loki's new Dr. had called me personally not a receptionist. She asked for the information and gladly gave her the new vet's name and location. She too was flipping mad about her incident.
