Default Stimulus question:
I have a pending deposit in my checking account from the US Treasury for $4200. Everywhere I look, it says $1400 each, so it would be double that, or $2800, right? Why the additional $1400, does anyone know?

But thanks, I hadn't seen that part. I'm guessing they must have paid me for my son, he was still in college for part of 2019.

It doesn't really matter though, I will not qualify for this stimulus, so no matter what the amount is, I will return it to the Treasury in next month's quarterly estimated.

They changed how it phases out on this round too.
$150k AGI (family)and you get it all.
$160k AGI and you get nothing and you'll like it!

I had a bad year in 2019, so I might get to keep the first stimulus. I have already been notified by the IRS that based on my payments in 2020, I will likely have to return the second stimulus (I am sure I will). Like I said above, there is basically no doubt I will be returning every penny of this third payment next month.

But anyways, thanks for the $1200 tax credit that I think (still not sure) I will be able to keep!
