How do you vote? Conservative - then come on in. Liberal - don't bother we are full!

How can you tell? Do you think Beto is really smart or a complete douchebag?

I'd say we are conservative, very conservative. I've worked hard for what we have and don't like giving it away to some free loader. I'll just leave it at that.
And Beto, complete douchebag. Actually that might be an insult to a douchebag, at least it has a purpose in life.

SA is better traffic-wise, but more assholes are moving in, daily. My little house is now valued at three times my purchase price, which wouldn't be bad if I wanted to sell, but $6k in taxes, and increasing annually, on a 1400 ft² house is a bit much! No state income tax is nice...but we take up the slack with property tax. The hill country is nice, though property values are increasing there, too ..and outside city limits, you don't have city services, so make sure your house doesn't catch fire, as one of my friend's home did recently. VFD didn't make it in time to save more than two of her dogs or any of her possessions. :'( She wasn't home.

I'm not a huge fan of downtown anything and am a bit of a hermit, though I live minutes from the SA airport, and could be downtown in about 12 minutes. I visit wineries in the hill country...drive takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the route. Similar drive time to the Deep Eddy Vodka distillery, and the nicer lakes in the area. Lots of parks and wilderness areas around for walking, running, biking, and hiking. The city govt is fairly liberal, but kept somewhat in check by state govt, if that is a concern. I live a couple miles from the local RNC offices and there are a lot of conservative ideologists in my area of town. If you want to know about specific areas of town, I know people that live or have lived in most of them, though the demographics are changing a lot from year to year. Feel free to message me!

Our very modest house is close to $5k in taxes AND we have state income tax AND they tax the shit out of vehicles.
Nebraska sucks, but at least it is not full of liberals.

property tax rates at least around the Houston area are 2.6 - 4% per year per home value, and the assessors are quite aggressive at their pricing.

My last home was 3.4% rate so $8,500 for a $250k valuation. New home is a 2.7% rate but it's taxed on a bit more value

Nope, only Omaha and Lincoln are liberal.
Trump won the state by nearly 20 points.

Trump 58.5%
Biden 39.4%

Population density kills us on taxes.

When i was in the Army and stationed in Ft. Gordon, GA, I got a property tax bill for my C5 and my wife's Scion XB. We were both FL residents (military blah blah blah). Well, they wanted $600 to renew her Scion tags and counted my C5 in the assessment.

**** YOU to the tax collector. I registered the Scion in FL, got FL tags, and didn't worry about it. The tax collector got sued by the military anyway for putting taxes on cars not registered in GA and on military people who were residents of other states. I was living in an apartment so there was no other property tax they ccould try to steal.

When I lived in Killeen it was a in a modest neighborhood. Houses went from about $150K to $225K. The assessors werre absolutely agressive and were appraising everything at least $100K higher than valued. Hell, my place cost me $165K, we a fairly new build, took me 8 years to sell when I moved, and I broke even. Taxes though..... $290K rate and fighting that was a complete bitch because I had to compare it to 3 or more houses in the neighborhood....which, of course, they over valued. A bunch of us had to get together to fight that and it took about 2 years to fix it.

How is housing, roads, taxes etc??
Don't live in Travis county. Too expensive and is libtard city. I lived north of Austin in Round Rock for 10 years or so. It was a sleepy little town at the time - early '90's to 2002. I suspect now it's probably taken over by all the California libtards moving to the Austin area.
Roads are good as winters are almost non-existent. The only problem with the roads is those stupid ****ing frontage roads. What a ****ed up design. I suspect housing prices are up since we left since the locus from California are moving there driving up prices. State of Tx has no income tax but sales taxes are a little higher. I much prefer that over income tax as I can vote with my wallet and not be raped by government every two weeks.
At this point I don't think I would move back there after talking with friends still there with in influx of the California libtards.

I've seen rumors that the Bills might relocate. So Austin can inherit a 4 time SB losing team. Your statement would hold.

They might be pretty good this year. But I am done with the NFL after the bullshit move they say they are going to do before each game. So I could not care less if they are in Buffalo or Austin.

Not going to happen.
And they've made the playoffs 3 of the last 4 seasons.

Thanks for your service.

I haven't lived there for 30+ years but have been to most of the OU home games during that time. It's about time to move back to escape the entitlelista infestation in Texas. Oklahoma has less of that than most places I've been and I doubt it turns purple or blue in my lifetime.
