Yes. It was after 8pm on a Sunday and took a while to get in touch with the landlord. I wanted the water off asap. It's all fixed now.

No water meter near the house? There should be a valve there to shut it down.

O well, most of the valves in my house are original from 1945. Not looking forward to when something breaks and I gotta shut off the water to the house.

Last winter we had no water. Someone had knocked the cover off the main and it froze. The plumber was cutting in the walls trying to find where the freeze was.
