We just had our house built a year and a half ago, and not a single outlet is labeled in any way. Code here is all AFCI breakers, which suck donkey balls by the way, so no need for ground fault outlets anymore apparently

Slow down cowboy. Arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) is for bedrooms and (I guess) closets where an object could accidentally drape over a not-fully inserted plug. Ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) are for outlets near sinks or other water sources.

From what I see those dam AFCI go bad a lot faster than the the old GFI.

I have one room in my house I use as a den, about the only reason you cannot call it a bedroom as it has a regular circuit not a AFC!.

I don't get it. Why would anyone think they require labeling? The reset buttons on the cover make it obvious what they are. Labeling them would be like putting a warning on a bag of peanuts not to eat the packaging.

Outlets without a reset, tied to a GFCI breaker or another outlet with a reset is what I thought the OP was referring to.

Oh Thanks, suffering a bit of a food coma at the moment. I probably misunderstood.

Had my place rewired from fuses to breakers after I moved in. No idea if they're GFCI but there are no reset buttons. It has 3 position levers. Up is on, down is off, and centered means it overloaded.

I know what they are for, cowboy. NH state code requires AFCI breakers in the breaker box for the WHOLE house!

The new breakers would say GFCI, and have a test button. They reset just like any other breaker.

An alternative, cheaper option is to have a GFCI outlet. put it in the first receptacle in the circuit then all the regular outlets can be wired as slaves.

That's against the National Code, where GFCI is required at all outlets near water. Like outside, or the kitchen counter, or a bathroom vanity.
