Default Daughter's first date tonight
Very nice young man came by to pick her up. Walked to the front door, came in and introduced himself.

She's been out with other guys at school dances etc but it's weird to have another boy come pick up your little girl. If he's anything like I was at 16, then she's in damn good hands.

But still...

I love taking that up to Mom's lake house for some "plinking" but after a few dozen rounds the shoulder feels pretty raw.
I usually take the old Winchester .22 that I learned to shoot on and help my daughter practice.

At ~50' and no scope, she's got an 80% average hitting coffee cans.

We have a couple girls and a wife who is quite thrifty until it comes to shoes where she's a close rival of Imelda Marcos.

I actually have a pair of work boots and one pair of slip-ons I muck around with. The rest of the 20+ pairs are not mine.

I typically had $20 or more due to side hustles I always had going on.
In middle school I used to ride my dirt bike up to the corner store to buy packs of gum by the case.
Sold it in school for $ 0.50 a pack and made a killing.

Also had a paper route by the time I was 10 in addition to washing cars for money.
I couldn't stand not having money because then I couldn't get food and by the time I was 9 I was hungry for a couple years. Long story.

I always HATED meeting the parents. Primary because I didn’t give a shit what they thought of me. And if I did happen to meet them and they didn’t like me, she usually did. Getting tagged with “Nice Boy” was today’s friend zone. No chance of that happening.
