there's an old section of 66 about a mile from our house. much of it locally got overpaved by I-25, at least from where we are towards the east (Las Vegas, NM), and what is left is known as Old Las Vegas Hwy. about 3 miles east of us, the mountains squeeze the available flat land, so the old 66 just disappears under I-25.

We drove it when we moved to California in 1961. Picked it up in Oklahoma City and drove all the way to LA. '61 Chevy Belair.
