Wow. I would think that would give you more compassion towards others instead of saying I did it, why can't you. The military was a beneficial recommendation then?

Not bragging but I was deeply blessed, don't feel guilty about that. My maternal grandparents were incredible and my parents although incredibly strict were very supportive and encouraging.


Most influential words my father ever said to me where not what you would think: "You are going to end up being a good for nothing whore in a gutter!" How he reacted when he found out that I was pregnant in my sophomore year of college with my high school sweetheart whom he hated. I wanted nothing more than to prove him wrong.... was my driving force to do something with my life.

My driving force was not to live in a trailer or raise a child in that environment.


Everything is an individual choice. That's why I have little compassion to able bodied men who shy from being responsible contributing citizens.

I watched the men of Iraq get trampled on for years because they were weak. This situation is no different.
