Default Being a NY transplant that relo'ed to the south......

Its pretty ****'in sad to see how 5 inches of snow can literally PARALYZE an entire state.

Don't get me wrong I get that this rarely happens and the DOT doesn't have the equipment to contend with it, but ****. Its been 24 hours and my street hasn't been plowed yet! Chances are the office will be closed again tomorrow too..

We don't need snow to stop these people, it simply had to get to 32*.

When we get ice/snow around here I won't go anywhere in my car. Not because of me, but because of all the other dumb fuccs on the road.

I've driven in snow. It wasn't trivial, but it wasn't bad.

Driving in snow/sleet/frozen rain sucks. And the sand they throw down on the road around here doesn't help much. Just messes up paint jobs once the snow/ice goes away.

Feel free to get your plow out and clean up the roads.

Plowed? WTF is that?

We Southerners don't gripe about lack of plowing. We just hole up and make babies until the white stuff melts.

Didn't we beat them a time or two? Get them on the horn and tell them to get over here and shovel my ass out!

I was just outside...1/4" of ice on top of the snow now. Roads are impassable.

Ice is a bitch. Unless you've got spiked wheels-nothing works.

I call it the great equalizer...because everyone is going to wreck on it.

That decision to shovel the driveway yesterday was a bad one...now it's just ice. Would have been better to have the ice on top of the snow, then shovel them both away with less work. <sigh>

I know how you feel Mark. Charlotte has shut down as well. Our neighborhood is a sheet of ice. We can't even get out because our house is at the bottom of a small bowl.

I suppose Georgia could up taxes for a bunch of plowing equipment they'll rarely use.

True, my tires came with a specific warning not to use them under 40*. For those of us that live in the snowbelt, dedicated snow tires are a must of you don't have 4wd.

It's not the snow, it's the ice. You don't plow ice no matter where you are. I lived in NY during an ice storm up there, and guess what? It paralyzed the Albany region just like it's doing here.

Plow your road? Unless you live on an interstate your road isn't getting plowed! Hell, most interstates only have one lane passable even now!

Hunker down, pop in a zombie movie and let mother nature melt the crap when she gets around to it!
