Default Best pricing for kitchen appliances..

I know its a random question but we are going to be redoing the kitchen and its time to start pricing stuff out.

Any sites you guys can direct me to? US Appliance and Pricegrabber seem to have good deals. Any others?

I think Lowe's has hard to beat prices on appliances. They carry some pretty high-end stuff, too.

Sears has scratch and dent outlets where you can find great deals. Often it's so minor you can't tell.

Bonus to Amazon is no tax and you can usually get free shipping. Negative is dealing with an issue if the appliance arrives damaged. If you buy local, at least the delivery guys will take it back and bring a new one. With Amazon (or any online site), I don't know how easy that would be to deal with . I'm on the fence because I need a new washer and dryer. I found ones I like online through Amazon for about $200 less plus no tax, so the savings would be over $400! Any one dealt with buying appliances online???

I might have to get with you when the time comes on the investment property.

Her wishlist consists of the following.

5 burner gas stainless cooktop w/ down draft (she might have to do w/o the downdraft)
Double oven about 30" wide (stainless)
Possibly a micro oven combo about 30" wide (stainless)
Dishwasher is no big deal as we can get locally cheap
Already got the new fridge a few months back.

Alot of this shit is still up in the air. We pretty much decided that we will go with what we can get good deals on and design the kitchen around the appliances once we get them.

I was abut to buy my washer and drier from the Sears Scratch and Dent outlet -- i got spooked by the limited return policy. I went to Lowes and beat the price for the pair by nearly 800. We got 20% during the laborday sale.

However I bought my SS dishwasher and French door fridge from Sears Scratch and dent -- the retail pricing wasn't even close.

Mark take a look at Craigslist. There's a surprising selection of new appliances pretty cheap.

Ordered and will be delivered in two weeks.

36" Whirlpool Cooktop (switching from electric to gas)

14" Kitchenaid retractable downdraft similar to this (700 cfm)

Wirlpool 30" double oven

Whirlpool Micro

Whirlpool washer

This is the look and finish of the cabinets and granite we are going for. The wife is meeting my GC tomorrow to finalize the cabinets so we can order those as well. Already got a new fridge months ago when ours crapped out in preperation of the redo.

Good call on switching to gas.

Where did you end up getting them?
