This.

He was taking a salary plus commission...that means his ass is on company time while he's at work and consistently doing other than company business on company time is theft, plain and simple. Don't really even have to go into the stealing of leads issue to know he should be disciplined/fired.

One thing about a POS thief is that he will keep being a POS thief. And I agree, the leads have nothing to do with it.

No, I'm not. The world is moving to a result oriented business model. Folks don't care when or how it gets done, what matters is that it gets done, it gets done efficiently and it gets done profitably. I'm fortunate to be in an industry that's way out in front of that. So all the folks surfing this forum on company time are thieves? Or is it OK to do other things on company time as long as no one profits? Welcome to the 80's. This is why I was reading some articles talking about how many of the big consulting shops won't hire college folks with business degrees. Other degrees, but not business degrees. Why? Because US colleges continue to teach business models that simply aren't relevant anymore...

We just fired a guy for excessive Internet usage during business hours. Go figure. Well...I think he was fired...the report I provided HR was enough cause, that's for darn sure. If not fired, he'll have a light paycheck next pay period, as he should.

If soliciting personal business from a company is your idea of the future of business, I hope you fail.
