'72 Oring/stainless brake squeel.....
some years ago I changed the rotors as the old ones were worn....so I now can't remember if the 'new' ones on the car with near zero MILES on them, but 50 billion stops , were made in China or not....much less the pads....
looked at the pads and rotor surfaces......look new....maybe too mutch time in the Floriduh garage and so rust/squeel issues?? everything LOOKS fine, but I not pulled the pads yet..... or should I take it on the freeway and pull a couple good panic stops???

Pads, caliper bolts, etc...need high heat lube to move freely and not squeak

Man, those disc brakes are kind of a pain in the ass. When I had my '73, I replaced all of my calipers with Van Steel's with the o-ring instead of that stupid lip seal on the OEM equipment. I had probably 2 or 3 Auto Zone rebuilds that sucked ass.
I used organic pads from Paragon Corvette. |
