Looking to store important documents and metals.
Reviews are all over the place but hard to separate consumer grade crap from the good stuff.

I'm looking at the 8-10 cubic feet range.

I have a large 1500# box its reasonably fire,water and burglar resistant

OP, For very important papers get a smaller box that you can put inside of a big box and you should have all the fire and water protection you need! That's what my son does!

Yup, I use the smallish fire rated safe inside a larger fire rated safe trick. I reckon paper should survive fire without a problem.

Not likely waterproof but I don't think water will affect titles and registrations much. Might be a problem for some receipts but then they fade on their own over time. For sure the money will be OK, have seen that go through the washing machine without a problem.

Yep. Box in a box for papers.

I selected the one below from Scheel's. It's the Liberty Colonial line, with Scheel's markings, $200 cheaper than Liberty is selling them. If you order from Liberty, You can get one configured either as a gun safe, or home safe. 75minutes at 1200F.

My inner safe has ~1 square foot internal capacity. Thick/solid metal is the basis for the fire resistance. This thing weighs 100 pounds.

My Lincoln is twenty years old. Got a great deal on it, about $1 per pound as I recall. Wouldn't want to buy a safe at the prices I see advertised these days.

Didn't pay much attention to fire rating when I got the Lincoln. Main purpose was theft protection for a few dozen firearms. Not long after I got the Gardall for the added fire protection due to not having a wife burn through my cash after the kids grew up/moved out. Simply found out what a good thing it is to not have money disappear and took that step with the hope of preventing it in the future.
