The stereotypes I grew up with and was told were wrong...and actually believed may be wrong...are now being supported and promoted with thundering force.

I grew up in the 60s with a typical 60s attitude about staying on my side of the tracks etc. As I matured, and actually had friends that were black, and found a lot of common ground, I realized a lot of what I saw and believed was a distortion of the truth. Now the distortion has become the truth. The stereotypes are fact. The division justified.

Born mid 40s, lived on the wrong side of the tracks for years. Graduated from a deep in the ghetto high school that was at least 60% black. Funny back years ago, most blacks were not on welfare, they actually had jobs. Most were married, the fathers lived at home and raised the kids right. The kids went to school to learn, not **** with the teachers and sell drugs. Things were decent and then along came MLK & LBJ between those two they started turning the good things around that had been beneficial for the blacks and were getting better

Things were dropping and then obunghole came around and personally set back civil rights many decades which is making serious problems for the country and getting progressively worse.

There is definitely a reason for those stereotypes concerning black people, they were well earned then and the new generations just reinforce them.

Several juveniles have been arrested. Of course, it's California so they'll be let go with a light slap on the wrist and a written apology for their inconvenience.

The socialist nutjob liberals in our country want 10-year olds to have the right to make all the decisions in their lives without parental consent.

Based on that, I feel the juvenile exemptions and lessening for crimes need to be tossed.
At any age for which you commit a crime, felony or less, you need to be subject to the adult punishments, as the impact to the victim does not vary based on age of the criminal.

From what my 34 year career Marine (E9) cousin has said in the past. if some Marines had trouble like that about 1/2 the base would get Liberty and go and clean up the place.

I think I'm your age....62. I experienced the same thing you did. I grew up in the SF Bay Area and lived in Oakland for 40 years. The last illusion to fall, for me, was the outing of Bill Cosby, a childhood hero of mine. I still have some black friends, but they are successful conservatives, not 'victims'.

What I have seen since the Rodney King Riots 30 years ago is the prison-level beat-down that blacks, even small black kids, do to their victims once the victim is out of the fight. I'm talking head kicks, body stomps, etc. Absolutely brutal. When I was in fights in the '70's, once you were down, the fighting stopped and that was that. What we have today are feral, violent animals with zero impulse control, and always on a low simmer due to decades of stoking and being lied to by democrats. A whole population ready to explode into violence at the drop of a hat, knowing there will be no consequences.

You make a solid point of reference here. I didn't consider the shift when the Rodney King stuff happened. I believe they saw the power in rioting that had been on hold since the 60s. The police were put in a terminal defense mode from that point on. They could do no right after that.
