Default Yet another AC issue

I have had ongoing issues with my AC for a while, but finally got it to stop leaking refrigerant. Now I have a new issue. It has had difficulty getting to 75 in the house and setting it to 74 INCREASES the temps so I have to stay 75 or above. I attempted to add R22 to it, but it is barely taking any. The inlet pipe has a nice cool sweat of water on it. The high pressure side is warm, but not hot. It seems everything is as it should be, but won't take Freon...or does it very slowly. Is my compressor failing? I was adding R22 from a 2lb can so I did not use gauges, I just connected to the low pressure and opened the valve. The can got damn cold and was sweating so it "seemed" it was flowing, but I walked away from it and went inside for a moment. Came out and it didn't seem to have used any freon. Weighing the cans, there is less than 1lb used.

You know nothing about AC obviously. Engine stands are for electrical work. Even a rookie knows the HOIST is used for AC.

I'm only certified for automotive AC and that requires a floor jack.

What? A floor jack? For a car? How does THAT work?

It helps move the oil pan out of the way.

At least on cars the high pressure side should be hot from the compressor to the condenser then warm (liquid line) from the condenser to the expansion valve. Did you hang some gauges on it?

Not this time, but every time prior. Because I was using a 2lb can, I knew no more than 2lbs would go in, so I was not concerned with monitoring pressure.

If you try pouring electrons in the end of a wire does that cause them to fall out faster on the other end?

If the system is full, then it's full. Without a set of gauges hooked up how do you know if your pressures are right?

And who the hell keeps their house at 74*?? Al Gore is coming over to kick your ass!

We keep ours - in Florida - at 74 during the day, and 72 at night. I keep the garage AC at 78 24/7. **** Al Gore and all enviro idiots.

The system had a leak so I am certain it was low. I stopped the leak but did not refill. I'm sure it was at least 1lb low and connecting a 2lb tank and not emptying it, means less than 2lbs were added or even could be added.

Back when I started working at a dealership. Trucks were using R12. Seen many a times when the mechanic would set the can in a warm pan of water to get them rooftop ac units to take the freon. Not sure if it would work with R22.

Problem number 1 diagnosed.
Your system works off of correct pressures.
Leave it alone and call the guy.

I can measure pressures. Outside coil gets hosed down often. Filters are new. I can measure temperature with IR, but that's about it. I know that the sweating on the low pressure side is a positive. I know warmth on the high pressure side is also a positive. I know it was low due to the leak. I know I put 7 or 8lbs in it when it had the leak and it blew cold(er) until it started leaking back down again. I know that the leak stopped simply by the fact that it will hold temperature now. The main problem is that I can't get the air from the vents below about 65-67 degrees upstairs. The downstairs is 53 at one vent and 64 at most others. Knowing it was low, I attempted to add freon, but it didn't seem to be taking it very quickly...or at all.
