The thing about the board game is that it's all about size of population (army). But look closer at the OP map. Where is the oil pumped from the ground? Where are the farms that make food, and lumber? Not so much in the blue states.

Cut off the flow of goods, and it's game over.

Abbott has called the bluff and 24 states are backing him up and NOW Biden has a political nightmare. A Fed vs state confrontation in an election year and nearly 1/2 the states against him. AND in an election year.
