That stuff gets good ratings because it has some oil in it and no alcohol...so carburetors don't fizz into white corrosion and fuel systems don't rust and degrade. Ethanol alcohol is the government's back door tactic of getting older carbureted cars, trucks, and equipment off the road and out of service. No different than ammunition or magazine restrictions. Insidious, and, inherently evil.

It's not just regular gasoline. Smells different in the tank and out the exhaust pipe.

A friend of mine called me a couple months back to help him with a friend of his and a snow thrower that wouldn't run. "He's got every tool you can think of." So I only brought my waste fluid vacuum and a can of TruFuel. He had E15 in it and hadn't started it in two years. I vacuumed out the old fuel, poured in a half-gallon of TruFuel, ran it through the filter and carburetor- would not start.

The guy had some screwdrivers and hammers, and some rusty wrenches. No spark plug socket. I did not have tools with me to check the plug, so told him to get the machine over to my house where I keep my (actual) tools.

A week later I got a call. "He tried it again and it started right up." Apparently the TruFuel had dissolved the varnish in the carb jet and solved the issue.

I used to drain all my equipment at end of season when I used regular gas with Stabil. Now I just leave the TruFuel in it. My 20 year old mower will start on the second pull next month, guaranteed.

That stuff is crazy priced.

For years I've used
E0 premium gas
StarTron fuel stabilizer (good for 2 years)
Amsoil Saber synthetic 2 stoke oil (100:1)

The 100:1 mix runs a lot cleaner than the 50:1
No smoke at all and you can feel the difference.

Im loving it, built that Husky 350 with a very mild port touchup, muffler mod and pop-up piston, caber rings and put 5 tanks through at 70:1, then pulled the jug...ftee oil in the case, not a single mark on the puston or cylinder.

Lots of marinas here, but their gas prices are crazy too and WaWa is a lot more convenient anyway now that they carry it.
Their ethanol free, E0 or marine gas is around $4.60/gal but it's well worth it.

True, but I may use two gallon/ year for my 4-stroke equipment and maybe a gallon/ 2 years of 50:1 for my two-stroke stuff. Not worth worrying about.

Thats common on the lake I live on. I know a couple of marina owners and they say that living way up here all the gas comes from the same line. So we pay road tax on marine use. We do have none E gas (high test) available at many stations, that is about .90 more a gallon that the crap eathanol gas!

Gas is high to begin with in this area, then we normally pay .30 -.40 more a gallon than down in the more populated areas. Gas sold at the marinas are at least a dollar or more likely a $1.25 more a gallon than our land based gas stations.

Boating can be quite expensive up here. Most peoples season goes from Memorial weekend to Labor day, then boat is pulled from the receding reservoir!

I have my own private dock and beach. I have many 5 gallon tanks and I fill them when down in the cheaper areas. By doing my own gas delivery I save serious money.

I had to get gas at Stillwater Reservoir one time in 2006 for my truck when I was up there with the GF boating and screwing. Because it was so isolated, the price was quite a bit higher than regular towns, like Old Forge where we came from that morning. I only got a half tank or so, don't remember.

But trucking the gasoline all the way up there on the dirt road cannot be cheap. We were there in August, but the road had a crappy grading job, full of chops, had to slow down numerous times to 10 MPH or so.

How about some pix of your place?

It is. My buddy must have 60 or more. He's starting to give them away. Most are antiques, all work.

Any pictures I publish could be regarded as collector items. I rarely take pictures, do not own a camera and even less rare is putting them on line. If I had to guess there are probably less than 10 here and over 19 years at the other place a good bet is less than thirty. Of what I said above most any pictures are ones my wife takes.

My avatar is a advertising picture that is identical to my last Vette, and my profile picture was taken by Beadest many years ago. It shows her Vette and my C6!
