Default Slowest car you ever had......

Mine was this 1963 Beetle.....but was fun and a pisser to drive. But to get up "the hill" on 287 if I didn't get a good running start it would almost not make it to the top

My wife had a 1972 Pinto when we married her. I wanted it gone ASAP. We got her a new Cutlass shortly after we married, dealer offered us $50 on trade. We ended up keeping it and driving it to work at the airport rather than subject the Corvette to daily doses of Jet A mist in the air. Ended up dumping it a year later for a Toyota SR5 pickup. Got $100 on trade, made money!

75 dodge colt with a automatic. If you could see a car you better not pull out in front of it.

1969 Ford Torino… had the 3.3 liter 6 banger with the 3 speed automatic. Got it shortly after graduating from high school Thing could barely get out of its own way but at the time the price was right and I need transportation

Uh-uh.
'75 Ford Courier. Built by Mazda, 4 cyl, 4 spd.
I put a Winnebago camper on the back of it back in the 70s during
the fuel shortage days. Had a hard time doing the speed limit (55mph)
on the Interstate from NY to WI
Gas was mashed to the floorboard for 800 miles.

Can't decide whether it was the Plymouth Cricket or the 197? Corolla.
Followed closely by the 4 cylinder 1994 Ford Ranger.

Never owned a slow car but I borrowed one a few times. Sister-in-law had a late 70's model Ford LTD land yacht with a 302 V8. Saddest excuse for a motor vehicle I've ever driven. Thing required a good quarter mile to get up to highway speed. Got curious so I looked it up on the wiki and found this -

Quote:
In that year, U.S. automakers began to quote horsepower in SAE net ratings; the 302 two-barrel carried a net rating of 140 hp (104 kW). By 1975, its power dropped as low as 122 hp (91 kW).
Hahaha... 122hp pushing ~4400lbs

Gotta agree with the B210. Ex wife and I had a '78 and when the a/c was on it couldn't climb a slight hill.

And my dad owned a '75 Valiant with a 225 slant six which was just as bad.

65 Beetle, it looked great, clean interior, great paint and extra nice chrome. The motor was beyond tired. It was a slight uphill to high school and I would have at least 15 cars behind me by the time I got there.

A guy offered me $400 for it ( 1977 ) and it was gone

Yep, restored and sold a few of those. Fun around town thinking back on it. Co-worker use to drive 40 miles back and forth to work in his '73...on I-75

Rental Smart Car in SLC when there were absolutely no cars available. That POS was dangerous. And, slower than my 1965 VW Type 3.
