I suggest you look at the Nissans. We've had 7 so far and they've been reliable and affordable. If you drive less than 12k a year a lease may be an option.

The Kia's and Hyundai's have great warranties.
The new Kia's are quite nice and well built. My mom bought the Kia Cadenza, it's a bit high end but its a $40k car that competes with $60k Lexus and such. She did by the extended warranty but her car is covered bumper to bumper for 10 years 100k miles. Also all maintenance. She's 70 so we have piece of mind she'll never have to worry about a car repair (the thing is slam full of electronics and such which will be costly if they break). Of course they have cheaper models, but they back them well. |

A lease is where you make payments and can only put so many miles on the vehicle how long does a typical lease last?
