What's a good watch for < $250?
I've been wearing the same Fossil watch for 10+ years now. I was with a friend when he was buying his wife a Michael Kors watch for her birthday a few days ago and it got me thinking about buying a new one.
I have friends that have Rolex, Breitling, etc..., but I'm not comfortable spending that kind of money on a daily worn watch. What are some decent brands to look at in my price range or does it even matter? Should I just get something that looks nice to me? I'm guessing 99% of people have no clue about watches besides "Rolex" is expensive. I said "Breitling" to my friend and he'd never heard of it. I'm not looking to impress watch people. I just want a nice watch that will last. |

Haha I've got an invicta spent $60 on it it's been a solid watch. But it's definitely just a Rolex knockoff.
Ive had the itch for for an ecodrive citizen watch for a while. Last edited by Stangkiller; 09-24-2011 at 5:16pm. |

Find something you like and make sure it feels comfortable on your wrist. I have 2 Hamilton's I never wear, one showing hardly any wear on the band and the other never worn.

Whatever brand / model you get, look for a Sapphire crystal, scratch resistant so the watch won't end up looking like a POS.

My daily wear watch is an Oris. Pricier, but fantastic quality.
I don't like quartz movements anymore since I started wearing the automatics. My Citizen Skyhawk sits on my dresser in the watch box now. Mine is very similar to this, but with titanium case and bracelet: |

I like Pulsars. They're made by Seiko and usually go for $150 to $250. On sale at JC Penny even a little less.

I have an Eco-Drive and regular Citizen and I always liked them.
Neither have seen the light of day since I got a Marathon though. |

Recently I picked up a Timex Indiglo divers with stop watch etc. on E-bay for 80$ to the door. AND, I can find my way home with it, in the dark! It's close to this one with a dive elapsed time ring and a champagne face....... |

I've had three Pulsars and I like them. They all still work and the only reason I get new ones is that I wear them daily and eventually they get beaten up.

Does it have to be a "hands" watch?
I have nothing but good things to say about the various flavors of Casio G-Shocks... |
