Given the fact this Jalopnik article has grown serious legs in the last 18 hours, it might be interesting to read the next chapter of this saga.

Of course, a little over a month ago, the handwriting was on the wall:

Yep, I saw his car the day it was brought from Hennessey's shop to MTI. Car was a disaster, blown motor, missing several parts & covered in bird crap.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

I've said this before...you'd have to be kinda clueless to rely on Jalopnik for any serious auto information.

Yep, they say he took people for over $23 million. He ran to Argentina, but was extradited back. He got 40 years & was ordered to pay back $9.5 million.

He's been ripping people off for the better part of 2 decades... maybe even longer. It's no secret. A search of the word "Hennessey" will spit out about a gazillion horror stories. How much of a dumbass do you have to be to give this guy money at this point?

Was that NoMercy? I think it was. Interestingly, before the whole ponzi thing came out, a friend of mine (mrkln I think on the forum) bought a set of wheels from NoMercy and they actually were a good deal and nice.

Yep, that's him. I tried to buy his stock Ti exhaust. It showed up half hanging out of a box, all dented & scratched up due to zero packing material. I sent it back, but never did get a refund.

Hope that ass is getting cornholed daily in prison.

I gave up on it shortly after the C6 launch. They wanted to be the first site to release pictures of the new corvette but then the next 'article' was a 5+ year old video of a 350z drifting
And they were all over the place during the C7 release. Often labeling a rendering/computer-generated-image as a "photo".

Funny thing was that some of the C7 leaked "photos" were somewhat close to the final product. But they embarrassed themselves with so much mis-information... that no one could take them serious (and IMO never will again).

Per your suggestion, I Googled the company, and the term, Corvette. Looks like its double gazillion, after this story broke. Seems it's everywhere

Doing the math on the track which is for sale on RacingJunk, looks to be around $49,000/acre. Seems like a lot, as bought in the mid-00s, it maybe was inflated then, and perhaps underwater, now. Assessed value is just under $365k
